Plot twists galore!

Erin A. Craig has spun a truly remarkable and unique tale of sisterly devotion with this reimagining of the original fairytale.

’She’d always loved dusk. It was as though a hand in the sky had pulled the sun from its berth... only to have the sun fight back, resisting, leaving a trace of itself to fade amongst the stars.’

How to review this book? I’m conflicted and confused. It made me angry and sad but also smile and I don’t even know what I’m feeling right now. Was this the author’s intention? If so, she succeeded big time.

I liked Tori as a character for about one chapter. She felt relatable. Then she started bashing Jane Austen and Disney and I was already kind of done with her attitude.

Some snippets of my actual thoughts while reading certain passages... (kind of spoilers up ahead I guess?)

————————————————————————

‘I think you should know that I make up a lot of stuff in my head and then get sad about it.’

>> #relatable

‘I have experienced my fair share of awkward, and awkward is not cute, awkward does not make you more attractive and awkward certainly should not be fashionable. It just makes you look like an idiot.’

>> #supermegarelatable

‘Coming out as a book-hater to my dad is comparable to coming out as gay to homophobic parents.’

>> Well duh?! If I ever had a kid who for some unfathomable reason didn’t like reading I’d put them up for adoption honestly
