I enjoyed this much better than the first book. That one was quite entertaining but I didn’t find it super duper awesome (if you know what I mean 🙈). This second instalment however... YES to intrigue and plot twists! 😲
Unfortunately I did see the BIG plot twist in the end coming... (if you’ve read it you know what I’m talking about 😋). I say unfortunate, but I shouldn’t because I think that was very well written by Sarah J. Maas. Also, I was kind of proud of myself for catching on about that quite early while reading 😇 (I think I was approximately one third into the book).

It eludes me why, but every time I start a new part in this series I have trouble getting into the story. I’m not someone who can’t handle a few slow-paced chapters, this one just took me a while... Although things started to get very interesting in the second part of the book, I felt like those developments could’ve happened perhaps a few chapters earlier...? Maybe I was just annoyed that it took some time for the action to start.
To end on a more positive note; those last few chapters killed me!! How does a person even recover from that? *mind blown* 🤯 (I had to restrain myself from typing al of that in caps). It felt like I was being swooped up in a whirlwind and - although those chapters weren’t particularly pleasant (for the characters, that is) - I can tell you it was a very satisfying experience for me 😋.
