This was very cute and while it was enjoyable it didn’t  live up to the high expectations I had for a Talia Hibbert novel. I adored the Brown Sisters books and this is just not on that level, unfortunately. Maybe because it’s YA? idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just know that while I had a good time reading this and Celine and Brad were very cute it didn’t give me that funny tingly feeling in my tummy that romance books are supposed to give you 🙈

Okay this was definitely more twisted than the rest of them. I’m so conflicted about these books, there’s things I like a lot and then there’s things that make me cringe and also things that make my neck hairs stand up straight 🫢

Firstly, let me say that Ana Huang writes chemistry like 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 pro 👏🏼
It drips off the pages, which is the way I like my enemies to lovers 👌🏼

I’m still not a huge fan of the spice in these books, solely because of the degradation thing, it’s just not for me. Apart from that, the spice is written well, just not entirely for my tastes 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do have to mention that I did have a problem with one particular scene, if you’ve read this you know the one 🙄 Josh needed to do a lot more grovelling after that, like Alex Volkov style grovelling, before Jules should’ve even thought about maybe taking him back. It made me go: wtf did I just read, I get that it’s their whole “thing”, they hate each other, but this scene made me feel sick. Also, Josh almost beating a man to death even though he’s a fucking doctor? Hippocrates who? 🙃🫣

I’m often not okay with the way some of the characters act in these books but I also can’t seem to stop reading them. Like, I think Alex is a complete psycho whose possessive behaviour would creep any sane person out, but my favourite scene of this book was when he asked he asked Josh permission to marry Ava and I totally kinda melted into a little puddle because of the cuteness? 🥺 like I said, so many conflicting emotions 😵‍💫🙈

Dishonourable mention: the whole painting subplot, that shit was so far-fetched 😂

Edit: oh and btw! I just noticed every book gets longer and longer! What is that about? The second book was already a 100 pages longer than necessary and this was 500 bloody pages 😬

I liked Rhys a teensy tiny bit more than Alex I think? But stil 🚩🚩🚩 galore 😂

Why do I keep reading these if I rate them so low? Because quality value doesn’t equal entertainment value lol, these are like bad reality tv to me 😅

Also, I don’t wanna victim blame, but they were asking to get caught, I’m sorry 🫣

idk how I feel about this. It didn’t make me cry even though i was convinced by multiple reviews that it would break my heart. It is a very sad and tragic story, but somehow i wasn’t as emotionally attached to the characters as i would’ve liked. Even though I did like them. I am a fan of the stepbrother-trope (provided that they didn’t grow up together, Clueless I’m looking at you 👀). What I’m not a big fan of is the I’m-emotionally-damaged-so-I’m-a-dick-to-everyone-trope. I didn’t hate it, I enjoyed the romance and the family dynamics. This review isn’t coherent at all, just thoughts after finishing this book 🤷🏻‍♀️

This wasn’t as good as the first one but I’m very excited to continue with the rest of the series 😇

I love Elias and Laia so much btw 😭💔

I preferred the first book, but this was enjoyable as well. Very curious about Harriet and Morgan’s story as well 😇

Wow, this was so good 🙊 hopefully the rest of the series is as good or even better! I LOVED all the characters, their depth, the way they were written. Even a seemingly quite insignificant one like Zak left and impression on me and the story.

Also, the only reason I didn’t rate this 5 stars is because I feel like I need to reserve that rating for when one of the other books is even better than this one? 😅
