Brilliant and fantastic.

I used this for Toddler Storytime today and it remains a favorite with the audience; parents and kids!

Meh. This is one of those titles that probably worked well when it was published but not so much with modern audiences. I was listening to this in my car and at one point I screamed out loud, "OH MY GOD! I THOUGHT THE BRITISH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM WAS BETTER THAN AMERICA'S. HOW ARE YOU CHILDREN EVEN FUNCTIONING?"

Clearly, this might not have been the book for me.

Here's the thing though: The story is entertaining. The mystery and the mythology involved is intriguing. I just wished the children involved had more common sense. I'm curious enough that I will be reading the second book in the series.
