Excellent look at the lives of a Scottish family. Although some of the writing comes across as a bit pretentious, it fits the family and their story. Lovely read when you're not looking for anything overly drama filled.
Reading about the triumphs of the women computers and how much of an impact their work has made on the country in so many areas was incredibly moving. Learning how they pushed through all of the hardships of being a black woman in the US in the 40s onward to persevere and prove that they could and did do just as well or better than their white male counterparts shows how much we as country have neglected some of our finest citizens. We still have a long way to go, but I hope that one day our country and world will match that of the Enterprise crew in Star Trek.
