I really enjoyed older-Carrie Fisher reflecting back on her life when she was filming the first Star Wars, and reflecting on her life in her present. I could have done with a lot less of 19-year-old-Carrie Fisher reciting her diary-prose and poeticly abstract reflections in her present. But, I recommend it if you can get through the middle part with all the diary readings.
Beautifully told. A fascinating story about the island of Guernsey during and after World War II.
It's interesting to see how the book and the movie tell a slightly different story, over-emphasizing some parts and down playing others.
This is one of those books that starts off with the ending - you discover that a plane crash has happened - then the rest of the book is dedicated to untangling the mystery of why it crashed. The way the author weaves the past and the present is unique and works very well. A good read.
A good solid mystery in the JP Beaumont series. I love that this one takes place (a little) in Whidbey island!
This book wasn't all what I expected, but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next in the series.
