Is this a story of a guy falling in love with the Loch Ness Monster? Yes. Is it charming and delightful if you just accept that fact going in? Also yes. Is the spice level as high as you imagine it is? Probably higher, to be honest.

I don't love the possessive MMC trope, so I could have done without the temper flares from Adam, although he grew on me gradually. AJ was a compelling FMC, even if her choices had me throwing my hands up at times. But I'm a sucker for a story set in the world of sports and agency, so this was an enjoyable and spicy time. 

This is a beautiful book, filled with gorgeous prose as it urges you along the strands of time to follow the relationship between Red and Blue. But it demands your full focus to absorb the story - this is not a book for multi-tasking. It took me literal months to finish this relatively short book because I needed to set aside uninterrupted quiet time to allow Blue and Red's story fully sink into my subconscious. I'll have to go back and revisit after I've had time to sit with it for a while.

I would recommend to anyone who wants to read this book to consider listening to the audiobook. It is extremely well done, complete with a faux podcast in between chapters. The story has familiar beats, but takes interesting turns along the way. I also appreciated that the author didn't shy away from the flaws of the main protagonist, who was sometimes difficult to root for. This one will stick with me for a while.

This was my first historical romance, and it certainly won't be my last. I loved Las Leonas! I adored the strength of Luz Alana that permeated every page. Evan Sinclair teetered between being overbearing and somewhat ahead of his time for this period, so I mostly came around on him by the end. But the fierceness of Luz's love for her friends, her family, and her history were what propelled me through the pages.
