So the ending of this story made the first book slightly more tolerable. However, my problems with the first book continued into this one. It's far, far too long for the sort of story it's telling. The main characters are idiots especially as far as their chosen profession of History is concerned. This includes the professor, a man that is qualified to teach history at Oxford. This means major things...unless things have changed in the future, and the morons are running the Universities. The historical inaccuracies were astounding...and the way the author tried to keep in tune with the time space continuum did not flow. It seemed disjointed.. also when did Polly suddenly discover she was in love with Colin? She didn't seem to care much about him in the first book, but now that he's her only hope of escaping the 1940s, he's suddenly the man she loves??? And what was the deal with Sir Godfrey? that was just an odd side plot, or else the author decided that every man that comes into contact with Polly MUST fall in love with her. So many things annoyed me about this series... I only read this book, hoping that all the things I hate about the first one would be gone...

While I enjoyed the first book in the series, I felt it started out very slow. This one took up exactly where the last left off, and now I am anxiously awaiting the third installment in the series. I loved this book!
