I listened to the audiobook which was really well done and entertaining to listen to with a different actor for each voice. I’m not sure I’d like this one as much if I had read it. There are some slow parts and predictable “rock story” story lines, but I’m glad the book didn’t go direction it seemed to be going at some parts.
I knew a little about these cases but didn’t realize the extent he terrorized his victims. Glad he was finally caught and is where he belongs. Looking forward to checking out the documentary on HBO. There is so much information presented, I think it will be a great supplement to this book. I think it also really highlights the amount of work that was completed by so many to make this arrest finally happen.
The was an easy, enlightening read about a woman I knew nothing about. I’ve seen some reviews that wished the invention was covered more; I agree it would be nice to know more about that but overall I’d like know more about her story. I don’t agree with the first half “being a love story”. It is not a love story in my opinion, but it certainly is an important part that has connections to history and helps explain her interest and musings of her invention. I was excited to learn that Gal Gadot is attached to a project based on Hedy and look forward to seeing what they do even if it means I finally have to get Apple+.
Expecting Better: Why the Conventional Pregnancy Wisdom is Wrong - and What You Really Need to Know
A lot of interesting information and a good guide to what conversations to have with your doctor. At the end of the day, I still go by my doctor's recommendations but still found this book very useful. For example, I had no idea that gardening was something to be cautious about during pregnancy. Again, it was good to learn to be able to discuss it further with my doctor, otherwise I don't think it would have come up.
I enjoyed listening to Reni speak about the various race topics she covered in her book, particularly immigration and feminism. In all my reading, those two topics don’t seem to come up nearly as much so it was refreshing to hear some news topics on race. It was also interesting to hear a little more about the UK and race; I found many similarities to the US.
