[Blurb @goodreads] All Mina ever wanted was to escape her father's control. Half human, half vampire, she lived eternally torn between two worlds, never fully experiencing the pleasures of either—until her father chose her as the pawn in his latest political move, gifting her to the darkly powerful and dangerously seductive Malachi Zion.

So that was the initial premise of the book until along the way FMC met 2 other Bloodline Vampires that made up their MMMF relationship. To say I was left speechless on some of the acts is an understatement

It took me few months after reading Sweetest Oblivion before reading this one, probably because the first book isn't that memorable for me. Therefore, I am so glad I picked this one up ♥️

It's a little bit of a timelapse approach and there were some references on the first book, however, this book can stand on its own. It has the typical alpha male MC and charming FMC but the icing to the cake is that the FMC is not a sweet Abelli like Elena but a crazy and affable Russo - which makes her the more loveable.

They have their own dark pasts and try to move past it they only way they know how. They are both volatile when mixed together but not the suffocating kind of toxic relationship. This is one of the mafia romance that I read past the sm*t and appreciated the plot more - the sm*t was a plus

So this one's a little bit tricky. First half, I wanted to throw it out the window, second half I almost did

Okay, so this one is a little bit tough for me to swallow-literally. I wanted so bad to like it, but I didn't and I wanted to DNF it but I ploughed through. I must've still possessed the forgiving senses early on this year.

Quick Summary:
1. Mafia Princess spends one night with the Ricci family's Hitman while engaged. Said Hitman, poetically so fell in love with the FMC (and when I say poetically, I am not exaggerating with the excessive use of unnecessary descriptives)
2. MC forced the FMC to wed him right after killing the Fiancée. Had his other reason why marriage was necessary
3. Badabum Badabam, nothing much happened. Little bit of twist here and there with revelations. The end.

This is no fluffy Wonderland, let me tell you that

I am deliciously conflicted with how I feel about this book. On one part, I advocated the personal mission of the MC to get rid of those pedo's. It's probably one of those things where my moral compass was tried and tested - which made reading this book even more interesting. On the other hand, the irony hit when MC upped his stalking skills to his personal relationship with FMC (TWs are strongly encouraged to be reviewed before reading)

1. MC saving innocent lives and providing safety is the composition that mostly lured me in finishing the book
2. Three pronged plots and semi dual timelines were interwoven beautifully by the author: solving the murder mystery of FMCs great grandma, MC's missions dismantling pedophile rings, the f*cked up relationship of Addie and Zade
3. Characterization. Hmmm. I love them both but I want to strangle them at the same time. There's only so much repetition of dominance and pitiful attempts to self preservation that I can take from both of them
4. The premise that this has sort of Stockholm Syndrome-ish vibes... I am still making peace with that information

So I have been contemplating how I feel about this book. I only do this when I am trying to recall my disposition from an author whose other works I read before. I Crossfire Series has been her best work that I read so far and it has been yeara since she released a new book.. this one. And I am mildly disappointed yet intrigued at the same time.

1. Like the Crossfire Series, the opulence and wealth influenced the plot massively. It is one of the central themes
2. MC has a brooding and calculative persona while FMC is bold, decisive and mysterious - lethal combination for a couple, one might say
3. Multiple POVs, which made me more involved. Felt like an audience intruding on their thoughts and I like it thus far

My biggest problem: It's so slow. Slow to to the point that had to force myself to be involved so I can get to that damn ending and find out the why's
