I loved Divergent and Blade Runner so this mashup is just right up my alley.
This was a riveting dystopian thriller that takes readers on a rollercoaster ride through the ruins of Dominion City. In a world ravaged by the plague and hunger, Serena Rogue, a resilient bounty hunter, embarks on a relentless quest to save kidnapped children from the city's perilous streets.
What makes this novel truly captivating is the complex dynamic between Serena and Nolan Storm, a man with a deep-seated grudge against her. Forced into an uneasy alliance, their enmity and undeniable attraction create an electrifying tension.
If you watched the movies like Ultraviolet or read manga like The Ghost Shell and Blood: The Last Vampire; this book has that badassasery vibes that would work for urban and paranormal thriller-fantasy lovers.

It has been awhile since I read military/historical fantasy. I still remember how awed I was with The Poppy War series and She Who Became the Sun so when I saw the blurb of this book falling to that category, I know I must read it.
The storyline is stunning, full of wide and sweeping action. The characters themselves have their own interesting arches and while I would like more backstory; that's just probably me being greedy cause Lin Chong is just that interesting.
The historical inclusion of wuxia on a sapphic book really brought the book from beginning to end. Overall, a good starting book for those dipping their toes to adult fantasy.

My heart ❤️ Sequel to The Coven we continue with Willow and Gray's story in a fashion only @harperlwoodsauthor
is a master at - full of shock factor
If I loved the wordplay and the vibes on the second book is just freaking amazing. Who knew Lucifer the Motherf**cking Morning Star has a romantic bone in him. He loved Willow so deeply that Willow has no choice but to choke on his affection.
The character arcs were subtle but powerful at the same time. The wait is definitely worth it.

"Into the Magic Shop" by Dr. James Doty is like that one unforgettable conversation you had with your wise old aunt, where she shared all her life's secrets. It's a gem of a book that's equal parts heartwarming and inspiring.
Dr. Doty takes you on a journey from his tough childhood to becoming a renowned neurosurgeon, all while weaving in the magical lessons he learned from a mystical woman named Ruth.
What makes this book shine is its powerful message about the profound impact of compassion, mindfulness, and the human connection.
It's a reminder that in our hectic lives, we often forget the simple yet transformative power of kindness and self-reflection. This book is a gentle nudge to seek the magic within ourselves and to share it with the world. A must-read for anyone looking to infuse a little more enchantment into their life.
