This was a cold, dark, philosophical fever dream both beautifully illustrated and written.
What a beautifully illustrated book with some great nature oriented poetry.
This was just beautifully written. Many passages gave me chills. I loved the main characters. Learning about Moth and Sani's heritage was wonderful, as was the unfolding of their connection.
I rather enjoyed the flux between campy and serious in this collection of short stories. Some of my favorites were the shortest, like Nakano Takeko is Fatally Shot. That one got me in the feels. A couple of these stories had interesting formats like a yelp review or another one of my favorites, How to Retile Your Bathroom in 6 Easy Steps. I really found the protagonists in each story to be real, thoughtfully rendered, and relatable.
