I thought this was a good first novel. One thing I disliked, though: the protagonist's name is Ai Li, which her lover pronounces as Ailey. That's all well and good, but then she's referred to as Ailey even in chapters that are written from her own perspective, which is very jarring; she certainly wouldn't think of herself that way! I would've preferred it if her name had either switched with perspective, or if she'd been consistently referred to as Ai Li.

Other than that, I liked it fine. The end was too serendipitous, but again, first novel.
