In all honesty I could not finish this but I read half and am counting it as a book. Its I interesting to read about life in Bible times but none of the reviews mention that this feels like a textbook not a novel. There’s no connection to the characters, terrible things happen and I had to talk my self into mentally caring because the book is not written to make you feel  any empathy. There’s a novella sized story about each time period and then we move on. The”modern day” wasn’t that interesting either other than seeing how an archeological site is run. If you can’t get me invested in 600 pages, i don’t have any more to give.
