thank you to @foreverandalwayspr and @authorlacotton for sending this alc my way!!
on thin ice follows mason the grumpy, lakeshore u hockey player and harper dixon, the new assistant coach's estranged daughter. from the beginning, mason is gruff and completely uninterested in harper because he knows she wants a relationship and he doesn't have time for a relationship. but, harper's around constantly because her friends are dating other players on the team and she volunteers for the program his younger, autistic brother is part of. he can't get harper out of his head and he's not happy about it. harper chose lakeshore u because it was far away from her father (who never wanted a daughter let alone one with celiac), but now he's coaching the team. throw in that she can't seem to escape mason, the one guy who has absolutely zero interest in her (right?). harper doesn't want to feel something for the grumpy hockey player, but she can't help it.
i am full send in for the lakeshore u series after reading one thin ice!! i love me a grumpy hero and mason steele was the grumpiest 🤬 harper's familial trauma hit a little close to home and i thought that it was handled really well (i will kill her dad xoxo). i loved how mason fought his feelings for so long and that ultimately what brought him to acknowledge them was harper's relationship with scottie. it felt very real to the situation, especially because mason was so afraid of anyone hurting his brother. when the romance finally got to its tipping point, mason totally had the swoon factor and was the kind of man that would defend his girl at every turn. overall, this was a fun college hock#bookreviewer
also, this is continuing my teddy hamilton obsession because his voice for mason had me screaming!!! loved the audio for this so so much <3
