Just finished this book and feeling all of the feels. I blazed through this book in a day and a half. The fastest I've read a book in a very long time. Station Eleven made me nostalgic for a world I'm still living in.

This book is full of descriptions of people longing for things we take advantage of everyday, and don't realize are miraculous. The magic of electricity, the awesomeness of flight, the convenience of running water. Things the world doesn't have after a flu wipes out 99% of the population.

I love the way this book bounces back and forth between life before and after the virus. The burden of memory hangs heavy over the older characters. I can only imagine the horror of the situation in which they find themselves. The way the lives of all of the characters intertwine is beautiful.

This book scared me. It made me think about how lucky I am to be able to type this review and post it on the internet. It made me miss my family. I recommend this book to everyone. My favorite book I've read in a long, long time.

I can't really and truly review this book since I could only get about 50 pages in, which was a struggle, but I'm going to tell you why I couldn't read it. It was painful. I was so bored. I've read this story before. Future dystopian society, one hero chosen to rise up and rebel... this book was so predictable and boring! Nothing about this book felt original to me. Maybe if it was my first time reading a book like this, or if I hadn't just finished reading Station Eleven... maybe then I would have been able to get through it.

I wanted to like this book, based off of all the stellar reviews. I just couldn't do it. It was a waste of my time.

This book was okay. As a mathematician, it was kind of cute to see the references to famous problems and mathematicians. However, I didn't feel like this book drew me in or kept my attention. Maybe it was lost in translation, but I found the sentences short and unemotional. When I was reading it, it sounded monotone in my head. I couldn't get excited about the story and I didn't feel anything for any of the characters. They all seemed cold to me.

I didn't mind this book, but it wasn't my favorite, and I'm not attached enough to want to read the next books in the series.

I guess I just don't get Italo Calvino. I thought this book was incredibly boring. I kept trying to give it my all but I hated it. I generally don't like books without a plot, so maybe I should have known, but the reviews for this book gave me hope. Oh well.

I loved Zafon's other books in this series, so I was a bit disappointed by this one. I didn't get into it as quickly, and it felt rushed. The story wasn't as magical or well described. However, in the end, I did enjoy this. Just a little sad it wasn't as good as the other two.

This book was a really quick read. Her disease was really interesting. However, at times the writing style didn't work for me. Overall it was enjoyable though.
