“I PRAY TO NEVER REST IN PEACE”
Well *I’m* not resting in peace after reading this masterpiece, behemoth of a book. Hua Cheng & Xie Lian my beloveds…you’re gonna haunt me forever. Seriously though, what a fucking ride. Won’t lie that there’s still aspects of the plot and characters I can’t keep track of, but I’d put myself through another thousand pages for this story because it was that good anyway.

Going to therapy for this one!

TW: Miscarriage/Stillborn child

This is a pretty short book, but I thought it was a very tender and vulnerable depiction of a topic that’s too often taboo, and it covered a lot of the processes that happen after a stillborn delivery that aren’t well known—like taking pictures of the baby, keeping items like a hospital bracelet, recovery, therapy, and even things like the fact that many parents *want* to talk about their child—and I really appreciated this graphic novel and its caring portrayal of a couple trying to recover from such a specific and painful loss.
