I like the premise of the book but there are just so many unnecessary dialogues that have nothing to do with the plot so I got bored very quickly.

The book is very convoluted, jumping back and forth between different families unnecessarily often, it was difficult to listen to and  just dragged out.

Sadly the story didn’t really grip me; the descriptions of forestry just weren’t interesting for me and overall not much else happened in the book.

The chapters are very short and written from alternating points of view - one is Helen’s and the other Ralph’s; the masked robber’s friend & accomplice.

While the book was a quick read with many plot twists I still figured things out pretty quickly and feel like something was missing to make this a book I could really enjoy. Additionally, I believe the ending would have been much better without the epilogue; it just doesn’t match Helen’s character at all in my opinion
