⏱ Wow. Time traveling romance at it’s best. Maggie is going on a trip with her father, he explains to her that they are going to the sixteenth century Scotland. But she doesn’t believe him, who would? So when they she’s suddenly transported to the past, she’s in for a shock.
⏱I loved the descriptive narrative the author uses to describe the Scottish landscape and culture. Even though Maggie is put in a tough scenario she is resourceful, daring, and adapts quite well. The dialogue in the scenes from the past is written in Old English and is very authentic, making the scenes come to life.
⏱I definitely recommend this book.

➗✖️This story is so cute! I loved how the story was combined with math problems in a completely natural way. I bet a kid that loves reading won’t even realize they are learning some math too. I also loved the mention of famous mathematicians. And as a cool bonus Langley Air Force base which is 1 hr down the road from me! (Although ironically I’m stationed at an army base even though I’m Air Force.)
➗✖️There was also so fun learning about NASA! Turns out the author’s great aunt Erma Tynes Walker worked alongside Katherine Johnson, who you may remember from the movie Hidden Figures! Great read for children! It was a little advanced for my 6yr old, It’s probably for ages 9-12.

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. I DNF’d it at 45% after multiple times of trying to push through.
The narration was juvenile, written maybe for middle schoolers. But on the flip side, the actually sorry would not be appropriate for kids with the death and violence, threatened rape, and sensual moments.
The premise of this story was very intriguing. Anne is an orphan and this with her adopted family on an island, oh and she can heal things. Soon she finds out she immortal and has had previous lives. I wanted to like this story so much but even though I got to 45% not much of anything had happened to keep me intrigued past this premise. The characters backstories were neat. So even though I didn’t finish this one, I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 like I normally do DNF’d books.
Even though I didn’t enjoy this book, it might resonate with a more YA audience.

♥️Y’all know fantasy is my favorite, and this one did not disappoint! Greggory Hoffenbach is a simple sensible farmer in the Kingdom. Until he finds a mysterious valuable red stone in the ground he’s farming and his world is turned upside down.
♥️This is a fantastic new world. The large city of Calver is split into three levels by stone walls and ran by a King that imposes high taxes. The main characters Greg, Ralph, Eve, and Bud are so opposite that they make the perfect band of adventurers.
♥️I really liked the writing style in this book. I was able to fall into the characters’ story and immerse myself. It was fun, witty, and fast-paced. I hope there will be a sequel!

I loved how these two authors integrated their lives, experiences, jobs, debt, etc. into the process and challenge of being a minimalist. This book applies to everyone. So don’t think “oh I don’t have a lot of stuff I need to get rid of so I don’t need to read this book”. This book teaches a mindset and a way of thinking that would be beneficial to any lifestyle. This is definitely a worthwhile read!
