Scoring Wilder is a very nice mix of romance and fun. Kinsley is such an outgoing but down to earth person that you fall in love with her instantly. As an up and coming soccer star with Olympic potential, she is focused on her soccer career until the day her path crosses with Liam Wilder - professional soccer player, playboy, and all around super hot stuff. But he is strictly off limits.
This doesn't stop Liam and Kinsley from completely falling for each other - which leads to a lot of trouble. The mean girl makes life impossible, and when the media gets wind of it, neither of them can get out of the spotlight. These are all difficult things to throw at a new relationship, and they have a hard time dealing with it at times.
I really loved the pace of this story and the way the plot evolved. From hiding their relationship to having it in the media spotlight - each step of their journey was a new learning experience in life. I hated that I couldn't read this all in one sitting. There are so many reasons that you should read this, that I can't list them all. It's a coming of age, sports, celebrity, romance that never goes overboard or gets boring.

We briefly meet Amy and Jason in book one of Barrett's Mill, but we don't learn very much about them. Jason is the brother to the new owner of the mill and has been instrumental in its new found resurrection and success. He is a good hearted, hard working, down to earth type of man that thinks he has life figured out. And for the most part he does. He stays pretty steady throughout the story in a very good way, with only small changes and developments to his character.
Amy on the other hand, has a lot going on in her life and she tends to dwell on it a bit much. Her past accident is a central focus and one of the primary conflicts in the story, but Amy as a character just seemed to wallow in her grief over it a little too much. At one point in time a side character even mentions this, and I was so glad they did. This conversation jump started Amy's change and I adored her every step of the way - just not her beginning self.
The story is a slow moving and relaxing one - the kind I love to enjoy once in awhile, especially around Christmas time. There is a hint of drama here and there, but again, it seems that Amy is the one to continue to bring it up and make a big deal of it. The rest of the town is so much more laid back that her attitude really stood out. In the end I loved who she was and was happy with her decisions.

I am a big fan of Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions series, and while this one is definitely something different, her amazing writing style still brings the story to life. Ninna is a big of a mess. She's an unusual one that has had a problem with hearing things. When she starts her new job at the animal clinic she thinks this is going to be a fresh start - until the voices begin again.
This is an incredibly sweet romance. Ninna and Stuart are brought together by a very unusual force - a Basset Hound named Mosey. He's a rather particular creature that is quite excited to find out that Ninna can hear him and communicate with him. He sets off to give her life advice and try to convince her she isn't really crazy. In fact, when a stalker comes calling, he and his friends are an important part in saving the day - in a very humorous fashion.
The addition of the stalker adds a nice little dash of danger to the story and keeps it from being overly sweet. Mosey and the other animals add a nice dose of humor and fun as well. This book was so much fun to read. The only downside was that I wanted it to keep going!

Nest was a fantastic and emotional story. Chirp is a special girl that has a unique bond with her mother. When her mother gets sick her life is turned upside down. As she comes to term with the facts of her new life she discovers many things about herself and her family. I'm not talking about deep dark family secrets - just a new understanding of life.
The life Chirp leads is deceptively simple at times as she enjoys the nature around her small town. I loved the scenery and how vividly it all came to life.

This was a fantastic steam punk adventure. It had a bit of an Indiana Jones feel - only he would be a female air ship racer instead of an archaeologist. I loved the history that was mixed into the storyline of the gods and goddesses and their mythical followings. As Lily searches for an ancient artifact, the steam punk world comes to life in all its glory. The tech was everywhere - from the clothing, the vehicles, and even the street vendors. I loved how it was such a feature in the story and not just part of the background. There was a hint of a romance in the story as well - but not nearly enough to actually call the story a romance book.
The only part that I didn't particularly care for was the way we were introduced to Lily's past. It was a little too sporadic and random in my mind. Also, there is heavy usage of drug addiction - opium, absinthe, and morphine - if this bothers you I would steer clear. It's an important part of the story and is actually something that becomes a way for the characters to really become better people in the end as they fight it.

Georgia is the "Holiday Goddess" - how I would hate that nickname. But she has earned it by writing Christmas screenplays. She seems like a cute little thing - but I also pictured Martha Stewart a few times (I'm not sure why). Weston is far to good to be real and his niece is just beyond adorable. There were a lot of good things going on here, but none of them seemed to stick with me for very long. They just weren't characters I could attach myself to and want to follow around.
I think this book really hit the mark it was aiming at. There were a lot of cliches in here. From the characters, to the extremely ill child, to the high school rival and sweetheart meeting again. Every page seemed to have a new one. But somehow it worked - mostly. There were a few times that it got to be a bit much, but overall it was an enjoyable story if not a memorable one.

There were many parts of this story that I loved, but there were some that I really didn't like as well. Aubrey and Flynn both work for the Hawks football team - so a relationship is off limits. But they've been dancing around the flirtations for awhile so their close friends aren't too surprised when something happens. Their bosses are quite upset though and set up a plan for them to have a "pretend" relationship.
This is the part of the story line I just didn't get. Why ask them to have a pretend relationship when they are basically starting a real one? It just didn't seem to flow very well and I knew it was there just to cause a conflict later - which of course it did. It seemed like it was a conflict just for the sake of having a conflict. There were plenty of other issues that could have been used to cause the drama and intensity that you see in romance novels. Oh, and the whole star football player still being a virgin just seemed a bit unbelievable in general.
What I really liked was the way the side characters interacted with our main characters and the obvious chemistry between Flynn and Aubrey. They were made for each other. They had sex a little too often - I wanted more story, but the story that was there was very well written and I was rooting for them to make it work long term the whole way through.
My favorite part of the book was the final football game. Karen Erickson really built up the intensity and I felt like I was there cheering for the team right along with everyone else. I held my breath and crossed my fingers and squealed a little inside when they made a good play. It was a great ending and a very emotional one for everybody in such a great way.

I just couldn't get into this one at all. It seemed like it was all about the sex and random things kept happened to try and create a storyline that just wasn't there.
Eve's purple aliens are something most of her fans know about - I'd heard of them, seen the covers, read the reviews, and finally decided I should just get started. This is one of the few science fiction romance authors that seems to do so much right. Her aliens are purple - they are not made up quite the same as a human male - but they work in all the right spots. Tren is a great introduction to the purple aliens (I'm not sure if their species was ever given a name). He is tough, protective, knows how to get the job done, and isn't too hard to look at. Although the purple probably took some getting used to.
Megan is unlucky. Not only did her boyfriend just leave her in the ocean to drown, but now she's been abducted by an alien. She tries to take it all in a stride - and she's a little too successful. I would expect at least a few break downs along the way, but she is one tough cookie. She mouths off to him every chance she gets and soon he finds out that he actually enjoys her nagging! The part that did bother me a bit was her casual nonchalance when other aliens were killed by Tren. I know they weren't human so she may have been able to separate herself a little, but she didn't seem to care.
Megan and Tren fall in love by arguing with each other until they decide that having sex is the best way to keep the other quiet. It works quite well until several blasts from the past come back to haunt Tren. His protective instincts were fantastic and I loved how devoted he was. This was a great introduction to the series, and I know it will only get better.

This was a very nice bit of suspense mixed in with my romance. When a judge on a cooking competition is found dead, there are plenty of suspects to go around. The guy was a bit of a jerk! Chefs Tilly and Jordan decide to help out with the investigation and things get quite out of control. Tilly and Jordan aren't exactly friends. In fact, they are always at each other's throats. They seem to have more of a love hate (emphasis on hate) type of relationship.
But as the story progresses and they get to know each other outside the world of professional cooking, they realize they may just enjoy each other's company. But before they can explore that too much, they have a murderer to catch. There were a couple too many potential suspects. I had a hard time keeping all the chefs, contestants, assistants, and agents straight for awhile. They were introduced all together and they sort of merged into one large thing for awhile. The author did a great job of keeping me guessing though. Once I everyone straight in my head, I saw motives everywhere! In the end I had the who-dun-it part figured out just before Tilly and Jordan, but I wasn't sure the how exactly until the author revealed it.
Tilly and Jordan are a cute couple. They butt heads so many times it becomes their way of saying "I care." They seem to come from opposite sides of the cooking world, but they truly do belong to each other. I loved their romance and in the end Jordan really proves himself in a very humorous fashion that I will not soon be forgetting.
