A really short story about the value of trust and believing in your friends.

I had a really hard time falling into a rhythm with this book. The characters were great - especially Della who I don't think got enough page time. By 70% or so I'd just about had it with Nita vacillating between saying what she wants and being the stoic, and Tremaine going from an understanding suitor to a typical male that thinks women just need a house to take care of. I did think the sheep were quite cute and enjoyed how much our co-stars seemed to care about them.

The author's writing was very well done. The story just didn't pop for me.

Jane is slowly adjusting to her new vampire life, but her family isn't. Especially her sister. There are two fun little mysteries that I figured out pretty fast, but I think the reader is supposed to. Zeb and Jolene's relationship is getting interesting, and I learned a lot about werewolf wedding customs. Another cute story from Molly Harper - who is quickly becoming a favorite.

This was an amazing story of acceptance and independence. Sally's journey to self-confidence and Abigail's journey realizing perfect and nice don't mean the same things to everyone, were enjoyable if a little blunt. Sally and Jack's journey through the wilderness around Christmastown was drawn out. It could have done with one less almost catastrophe. Overall, this was a great book to read, especially in the time between Halloween and Christmas.

A pretty standard enemies in the past thrown together in the present and they fall in love type of story. I wasn't all that into them as a romantic couple. Take them or leave them. I did enjoy the story of the family coming together around Jo as she passed. 

This was a very fun introduction to Half Moon Hollow. Jane is a librarian turned vampire turned smart-ass. Although I would be a smart-ass too if someone kept trying to ruin my unlife. Jane's personality was a bit of the stereotypical "smart girl with an attitude that ends up being cute." It was how that personality interacted with the vampires and humans in her life that let it shine. Lots of snark, sassiness, and hilarity. I'm curious to see how a lot of Jane's new relationships turn out as the series goes on.

Curse of the Chosen was a book about character growth. Yes, the storyline progressed and a lot of things happened, but it all just pushed the growth of our main characters, especially Carol and Alan. A little too much detail was used at times, which made the story feel dragged out a bit. The story is set up for everyone to come together, which may help it move along a little faster in the next book. I'm still totally invested in these characters.

The world is ending and it may all be Charley's fault - again. The final book of the series was a race through the pages to solve at least five mysteries, save 5 (maybe more) people directly, and prevent the world from ending (which would have killed everyone else). There are so many surprises in the book, it seemed like they never stopped coming. Maybe a few too many surprises. Sometimes it felt like 3 or 4 more books of information shoved into one. But the ending, was so worth it. I loved it - it was perfect - can I have one like that too please?

The final Charley Davidson book was a great wrap up for their story. I highly recommend the series to people who love a great urban fantasy with a bit of a romantic subplot and a handful of smexy times. 

I really enjoyed Sophia and Gabriel in the prior Thornbrooke Park books, but their story really left me wanting a lot more out of them. I'm not sure how many times a couple can mis-communicate (even in historical periods), but they definitely surpassed that number by a lot. Both tried too hard to change who they were, and it kept backfiring repeatedly like they were speaking different languages. It just got really hard to read after the fourth or fifth time. I would have much preferred to read more about the other romance (no spoilers) that was going on in the background. It sounded far more interesting and fun.
