Let There Be Love by Melissa Storm is an amazing story of love and redemption set in the world of Alaskan sled dogs (who are super cute even if they are working). Both Lauren and Shane have deep stories, and they developed into people I would love to call my friends.

Lauren starts out a little lost. Hating her job and not sure what she wants to do with her life. When her father dies unexpectedly, she finds out that his past (and hers) are not what she thought they were. So off to Alaska she goes – to discover her sledding history.

Seth’s story was a bit more complicated from the very beginning. And there were many times I wondered why he was such a jerk all the time. Lauren seems to thrive taking care of Mr. Grump and his team of sled dogs, but his refusal to open up drives her crazy.

She does a few sneaky things that she shouldn’t have, and somehow Seth ends up apologizing for them. Which bothered me a bit, because it should have been the other way around, but they seemed to work it out.

As Lauren and Seth start to develop a relationship, both of the pasts came back to visit in ways that I didn’t see coming. It was the perfect dose of extra drama to keep things moving along as they still fought their feelings for each other.

This was a great start to a series that I ended up binge-reading. Animals, romance, and great personalities are the perfect book combo.

Let There Be Light by Melissa Storm is a great adventure story with an enemies-to-lovers romance that will melt your heart. Scarlett was a character that I could easily relate to as a reader. She lives in the worlds between the pages of her books. And we all know how that feels. But she’s ready to experience her own adventure this time.

She begins training for the Iditarod. Which seemed a little out of place to me. It’s the biggest sled dog race in the world. And I didn’t think you can just jump right in and run it your first year in training. But maybe I’m wrong. Because that’s exactly what she did – with the help of Lauren and Shane from the previous book.

Henry Mitchell has a very bad reputation, and it isn’t clear at first if he really deserves it. But he’s also out to win the Iditarod, with much more at stake than Scarlett. Because his family’s inheritance is on the line. And his family is not well-loved in the dog community.

Henry and Scarlett make an interesting match from the very beginning. With the hint of a Cinderella story at the ball, their meeting is quite memorable – and news-worthy. The back and forth between Scarlett wanting to help and wanting nothing to do with Henry seemed very fitting for both their characters. And it was well-done and believable.

Melissa Storm did an amazing job with the ending. So I will not give any hints to ruin it for you. But she found the perfect way to give everyone a happily ever after. I’m excited to jump right in a read more of the series to see who gets to fall in love next.

For Rent (or French Vanilla & Felonies) was a really fun read. Light-hearted, at times ridiculous, with just enough of the feels to string your emotions along a little. Cambria is a struggling single mom. And when she lands the job of a lifetime, she'd do anything to keep it. Bad luck follows her though, and she finds herself under attack (verbally) from the apartment residents that are convinced she's responsible for the recent crime spree in the building.

The residents are just beyond belief. They are some of the best secondary characters I've read in a long time. Each is very unique and stands out (some are ridiculous - but it's a comedy so that's ok) and has their own reasons for wanting Cambria gone.

But job of a lifetime remember? Cambria's attempts to solve the serious crimes around the building, along with the ones she seems to make up as she goes, never turn out well. And of course, the cute maintenance man is always there to see her fall. The sparks begin to heat up here but they do take a little longer to actually fly than some romances.

The mystery part of this book is just as prevalent as the romance and really adds that extra layer to the story. But please remember - this is a comedy - so don't get upset when things go crazy.

Let There be Life by Melissa Storm had a beautiful twist of suspense folded into the sweet romance. When Liz finds herself under investigation by reporter Dorian Whiley, she's convinced it's because of her new step-mom. But there's much more to it that unfolds beautifully throughout the story.

Dorian is a great investigator. He thinks outside the box and gets the job done. But there's something a little different about this one. Liz isn't what he expected, and neither is his client. Dorian might be on the wrong side of things this time, but it's pretty unclear where the right side of things really is.

A mystery begins to unravel that goes all the way back to when Liz was born. It will take a lot of courage to confront the past, and a lot of grace to forgive and move forward with her life.

I missed the dogs in his one, we just don't get to see them or Liz's friends as much as I would have liked.

Finding Her Forever by Melissa Storm takes you on a journey through Ellie's mind and memory. After a horrible car accident, Ellie forgets everything - her name, her friends, and the identity of the literal man of dreams. She journeys far from home to an Alaskan ranch that specializes in memory therapy.

But Ellie is still haunted by this mystery man that shows up every night in her dreams. She knows that he was someone special, but she can't figure out who he is. She can't figure out much of anything, because even though she tries as hard as she can, her memories stay out of reach.

However, this gives Ellie a chance to find herself all over again. She reinvents herself as a completely different person than the horrible and vain one she seemed to be before the accident. But she can't seem to move past her dream man.

When a handsome ranch hand, Landon, catches her eye, she isn't sure what she should do. And as they start to become close, she feels like she's betraying someone from her past.

Throughout her journey to recovery, she learns many things about herself. She reconnects with her father in an incredibly touching way. And she bonds with the horses and people at the ranch.

I loved Ellie's journey, the horses, and the ending was quite a surprise twist. A mix of deception and redemption, which make an unusual but very well-done story.

Christmas in Bayberry by Jennifer Faye was just the book I need to kick off Christmas in July. It was fun, light-hearted, and full of small-town charm. Bayberry isn't just the town, it's also the candle-making company that brought everyone together, and you can feel the connections between the town residents on each page as they get ready for the holiday season.

But this holiday might be different. The company is not doing well, and when Wes Adams (from New York) shows up to do make a recommendation on whether the company will survive, it seems like the whole town is on pins and needles. They may not know the specifics, but they know something is up - and it isn't good.

Kate has dreamed of the day she can take over running the Bayberry Candles and let her aunt retire. But if things don't change, she may never have the chance to do that. When she finds out that Wes is in town to work on the company, she recruits him to help with some really great (and a few not so great) ideas to keep the company alive.

Through it all, a level of trust and respect grows between them. When it comes time to make a decision on the company, it might not be what everyone had in mind. And if Kate and Wes want to make things a reality, one of them may have to give up on their dreams.

This wouldn't be a Hallmark Romance if it didn't have a happily-ever-after ending though. And I think Jennifer Faye did a great job capturing the magic of the moment. The town and its residents were able to shine in the spotlight, but Wes and Kate never leave center stage, and their story was just what I needed.

Did not finish - was still completely lost at 15%

Finding Her Faith by Melissa Storm introduces Brenna, an incredibly strong young woman. She's come to Memory Ranch to deal with her memories. But she's not trying to get them back. She'd love to forget them. She would like nothing better than to leave her past abuse behind her and never think of it again.

But we all know life and memories don't work that way. Brenna finds it impossible to trust again. Even when the handsome Matt goes out of his way to earn her trust. Matt also knows what it's like to try and forget your past.

However, when someone shows up investigating Brenna's past, she panics. Like full-on loses trust in everyone and feels like she has to take on the world by herself.

Finding Her Faith really showcases the power of trust, and how hard it can be to hold onto at times. Brenna and Matt have a bit of a road ahead of them, and Melissa Storm lays it out so I could travel right along with them.

Finding Her Family by Melissa Storm is little heavier than the previous books in the series. She writes about the issues surrounding caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's well, and I can tell she did some research.

Kate's struggle between living her life and taking care of her mother is present on every page. And her guilt over not being able to do more is very prevalent.

Kate's mother is determined to not be a burden on her. And she works with her therapist, Jack, to try and convince Kate that she still needs to live for herself as well. But Kate refuses to accept the fact that she can't do it all, and she is willing to sacrifice anything - even love - for her mother's care.

As her mother continues to decline, Kate will have to make some major decisions. Will she continue to do it all, or will she put her mother in a care home? Will she allow Jack a place in her heart and her life?

Finding Her Family was a very touching and heartfelt story that is more than just a romance. It's a story of a family trying to find their new normal and figure out how to navigate the twists and turns of life.

Sailing at Sunset by Cindi Madsen was just full of so many beautiful things. Beautiful people, beautiful boats, and amazing scenery everywhere they went. I truly fell in love with every place the group visited in the boat, and each member of the team had their own unique personality they brought to the pages.

Danae was so much fun. She had such personality and her quirkiness was so bubbly. Her gold star stickers and planners can join me any day of the week.

But Josh is the complete opposite. He’s a carefree, no attachments kind of guy. Schedules are made to be changed, and what is life if you can’t have fun. He’s tried to office job and hated it. He wants the freedom his life on the sea provides.

So how exactly do Josh and Danae make it? There are the perfect example of opposites attract, but it wasn’t an easy trip to get there. Starting with the email title the FINAL final schedule with every second of the trip mapped out in fine detail, Josh is sure he will not like the woman on the other end.

But life is full of surprises and love is full of even more. This trip wasn’t just about Josh and Danae though. The whole group found new ways to connect professionally and personally. I think there could be a sequel in there that I’d love to read!
