Very exciting!!! That is the best way to describe this one. We get to meet a very strange mountain tribe with a "sex tent," that leads to a very interesting situation. But one thing leads to another and he's on the run with Lani as they try and track down her mother. Now this will all tie back to the hunt for this bad guy (who has a name now) and this is where we really start to get close - but that's all I'm going to tell you about him.

Tomas and Lani are thrown together rather suddenly, but that happens to werewolves that know immediately when they find their mate. Even though this was rather sudden, Lani and Tomas complimented each other very well. There were some language issues that I could never quite figure out. I believe three were spoken, but I couldn't keep track of who was speaking what and who could understand who through all of it.

This was a very action-packed portion of the series, but that didn't seem to distract from the romance. In this case, it was what really drew them together.

Ohhh....deep in the jungle romance. Quite literally. I loved the set up for this book, jungle mission gone wrong, Kendra and Declan alone in the wilderness running and fighting for their lives. Very intense. There was so much action that a couple times the romance got a tad bit sidetracked - but there still quite a few very nice romantic touches and moments that Kendra and Declan experience as they run for their lives.

One of the things I've liked best about this series in general, is that the women can hold their own. They may not be the best at everything, but they have a strength and skill set that is an integral part to completing the mission. Kendra is a serious tough girl, which is a side that we don't get to see too much of before now. She's awesome!!! But, she isn't afraid of her softer side, and is one of my favorite characters so far in the series.

Declan is a big teddy bear - or so we think at first. But he when push comes to shove, we get to see some new sides to the big bear shifter. He's vulnerable, protective, and loving in ways that will melt your heart. I loved watching him start to open up to new ideas and new people. He makes an amazing hero.

The mystery of the hybrids continues and things keep getting more and more convoluted, but I'm hoping we get a few solid answers or leads in the next one.

Elizabeth seems to be your typical awkward yet attractive graduate student, but suddenly the world of legends comes bursting into her master's thesis and all hell breaks loose. Elizabeth finds herself swept away to a far away place - well just Chicago to start with, but that's just a little baby step for what's to come. Elizabeth is about to take the trip of a lifetime.

As Elizabeth begins to learn more of her family history, lots of other secrets start crawling out of the woodwork. There were times I didn't know who were the good guys and who were the bad. But they all want to use Elizabeth and her unpracticed powers for their own needs. Finn is at the heart of this conflict and does a great job of totally confusing me emotionally. I loved him, I hated him, I thought he needed to die a slow painful death, and then I wanted to smother him with love.

Through the Veil is quite an epic adventure with some really amazing characters and creatures. I couldn't put it down for anything! And now I have to wait for book two - I'm not sure how I'm going to manage that.

I loved Yonie, I loved LaRue, the world was a lot of fun and there's a mystery to solve. Lots of good things on the pages as we follow Yonie and LaRue on their search for the person selling dangerous Guile affected objects. What is Guile? This is was a great concept of how things become magical based on some murky swamp water and how long the relic sits in it. Something a little different, but a little familiar, and added a very unique element to the story.

We don't really get to see the mystery begin for a few chapters though. I wish it had been introduced a little bit sooner so that I could enjoy it for a longer period of time. There a tons of loops and twists as Yonie and LaRue follow the trail. It leads them to long long family memebers, strange far off places that no one has ever heard of, odd creatures, and a lot of Guile.

It is quite an adventure to fit into one book that is just under 400 pages, but it flows very nicely from one point to the next. It never seems to rush or get bogged down, but has a very natural pace and flow. I'll be looking for more from this author.

This was a cute and exciting story, but I really disliked getting pulled out of the main storyline. I missed the old friends I've met along the way, and I really really wanted to know more about the whole hybrid mystery - and I didn't get that.

What I did get was a great stand-alone novel with some really fun characters. Eden was great - if a little too invincible at times. And Travis took finding out about shifters a little too well - but hey, it's a novella so we don't have a lot of time for people to really soak in new things.

While we get to see a few of our friends from previous books, they make very brief appearances - so no need to know what has happened up until now to really get into this one. This is more of a mobster vs cops type of story as well. A nice change from the super-secret-government-agency out to save the world type of story to mix things up a bit.

Yes! Finally a lead in the hybrid case and who may (or may not) be behind it all. All thanks to Minka - a new hybrid that Angelo finds running for her life and terrified. Another very exciting, but not in a non-stop action way like some of the books are, story with lots of great moments of every sort. The development of this overall story arc was the best part of this book for me. Finally moving forward with some good solid information was great.

Minka is super special - in a lot of ways. She's incredible smart and has a heart of gold. She is a bit of a delicate personality as well. Understandably terrified and confused about what has been done to her, she latches on to Angelo and doesn't let go (quite literally). He becomes her anchor, the one thing she needs to continue to be the person she knows she is.

We've met Angelo here and there in the past books as one of Landon's ex-teammates. He's a great guy, but sometimes there just didn't seem to be much to him. I'm finding a hard time thinking of something about him that really stood out from all the other heroes. Incredibly protective towards Minka, they do make a cute couple. They have some adorable moments that you will just have to smile at - you won't be able to help yourself.

This was not my favorite of the series so far. While some very important information is delivered for the overall chase of the bad guys, I just could not get into the romance for anything. The two characters just did not connect in my mind at all. We find out a little bit more about the bad guy and get a little bit closer to finding him. I'm really excited to read book six and find out what will happen next.

But don't let this scare you away from the series - it is an amazing story line with some really great characters - this one just didn't quite stand up to par with it's fellow series-mates.

This was a very fun story! The author does a great job telling the story from Madison's point of view, and I love the look even deeper into her thoughts as she writes her blog/diary posts. She's a suprising down to earth, yet crazy character that just has tons of personality.

Her whirlwind beginning of finding out who her family really is, was written very nicely. I love a good melt down scene when the circumstances call for it. And these definitely did - and one was very nicely provided. It helps keep the character real by showing that even she can become overwhelmed.

There are a lot of typical teen problems in the story - boys, looks, fashion, gossip, friends - but because they are typical I believed them. I did figure out the bug mystery before Madison did, but I think that was mostly a lucky guess. I'm very curious to see what is in store next for her.

This is a very fun series, but the the romance here was a little too on again off again for my taste. Anna just can't seem to make up her mind about what she wants to do about TJ and her financial worries. I understand the being unsure part, but she keeps making decisions - starting to follow through - and then changing her mind.

TJ wasn't the best of characters either, although he does redeem himself. He sets out to hurt and trap Anna at one point and I just had a very hard time liking her after that. It took a lot before I'd let him into my mind as the hero again.I'm sorry, but you don't get to take credit for saving the day, if you're the one that ruined it (purposely) to begin with.

There is a lot of humor and fun. The brothers are a great bunch when you get the all together around the dinner table. I'd sit and listen to their lively conversation any day. And Anna has such a heart of gold that you will be cheering for her just about every step of the way.

Only one brother left, and I can't wait to get to find out his story.
