Beautifully written; Atrek’s descriptions of Turkey is rich and idyllic. It felt like I was on the beach with them or swimming in the ocean. The main characters themselves we never get to fully know because Ada is still trying to find herself and describes people as she wants to be. Her friends seem to be the only people she accepts for who they are completely.

Both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Each chapter focuses on a different family member but each one feels alive and whole through their own thoughts and their interactions with other family members. Painfully honest about parenthood, growing up, and realizing your parents are flawed too. Finding a place to call home is as much about who you share your home with and can never share with again.
