Wow, this is a really solid start to a new Shonen series.

Chihiro lost his father and is on a revenge path for him. This leads to some really intense fights where he works with his best buddy Togo. The story starts simple enough but when you had in the adorable Char, as the key character to protect and a badass cafe owner with Hinao, everything just flows so good with the characters. The pacing is relentless, giving our main hero very little time to rest after everything starts going to hell.

This series can be brutal with some really great kills, excellent fighting moments, and a big surprise, some really cute/funny moments. This is def a series to keep your eye on.

Things heat up. A date. Another death.

A decent issue, some great action scenes, like how Nightwing is written, but this whole human fly storyline isn't doing much for me tbh.

Little weaker than last few. Basically Batgirl and her mother have to work together but things go just about what I expected. Good fight scenes, weaker story in this issue.

The brothers fighting can drive you nuts, but gotta keep in mind they are teenagers. But damn this is a messed up issue where the brothers keep getting stopped at every turn and hunted, the whole city turning on them, how will they make it out of this?

Love how modern this feels. Pretty sad opening that's very true to real life. Good stuff.

Feel for this boxing dad. I hope he survived with his little girl. Wes has a great fight scene but he suffers a hit. Good stuff.

In order to defeat her enemies Cassandra has to be able to fight back. But in order to do so she has to come to terms with her past, and her mother's actions. A solid build up to the final issue coming next.

One mystery solved, 3 more now to solve....goddamn. Still epic and still dark, love this modern day take on "superheroes"

I wasn't sure what to expect from this graphic novel, yet I was both surprised, but also felt a little...bored at times?

The thing about graphic novels, is the medium let's you really showcase things without the need to narrate a lot. I feel this title didn't do that well. A lot of things were told how hard life is as a mother. And as a husband who knows how much his wife does for both me and our daughter, I'd love to see that portrayed well in a graphic novel style. But in here it's just mostly told, and very very long winded. I'm not familiar with Mary Catherine Starr, so she might be a big author, but this felt like one of her first, if not first, comic/graphic novel. It doesn't read as well in that format IMO and felt like this maybe should have been a regular novel instead.

However, I did still enjoy the message. Some great parts, including the rough process for pregnancy, and of course the feeling of being alone when doing so many things by yourself, even if you aren't by yourself, that feeling can be rough. And I enjoyed those moments as well as the ending, which fit the themes well, and really turned me around on the family we got to know.

So overall not perfect, I think the format is new to the author, and she'll only get better at it for sure. But it's still a good book into the life of motherhood, which is NOT easy folks. A 3 out of 5.
