It's been over 10 years since I've watched Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. I actually grew up with the original series but brotherhood is a better version (despite loving some scenes from the original series too) but I never did read the manga. So I thought why not give it a read with these hardcover fullmetal edition with much nicer paper.

This is about the two brothers who decided to try and bring their mother back with alchemy and of course it didn't go well. TO get something you must give up something, this is the rules of alchemy. So now one brother has a metal body while the other is half robotic thanks to their fuck up. So they are trying a way to fix their bodies by going around the world finding a stone that'll help them do just that.

The first volume is strong though it gets REALLY good in the second half, especially final two chapters. The first chapter is kind of a build up of how the world works, who the brothers are, and sets the stage. The middle chapter is kind of character building for the brothers. But the final arc in this book focuses on Nina, a girl just living her best life with her doggie and father. But something dark awaits her future that ruins everything.

Overall, the first arc is solid fun but the next two arcs grow into something better. The final arc alone pushes this from a 3 to a 4 all tougher with some heartbreaking moments to say the least. Art is fantastic as well as solid writing. A 4 out of 5 all together.

While solid enough I have a feeling Starlin didn't really want to write this story.

I don't know if it's on record Starlin didn't like Robin or not, but he came across here as almost mean spirited of how to wipe him off. The fakeouts didn't help since the way Jason ultimately meets his death is very similar. I thought the vicious beating was brutal enough but to have the boy then die from an explosion was truly screwed up.

Saying that it was handled well enough even if I think Bruce got over it way too quickly at the moment. But I will say the Tim introduction was solid, if not a little goofy. Almost like Batman's biggest fan becoming his sidekick. But it was enjoyable and I liked Dick's growth (Not a pun/joke) in this storyline.

A 3 out of 5.

Reborn as a new man, Musashi is taking on the world. He plans on asking the strongest fighters in each dojo to fight him, sometimes to the death. His first stop he seems very much like he can take them all on till the owner comes in and shows him just how quick and strong he is. So instead leaves his big brother to handle it. Leaving for a quick and brutal fight. I loved this volume as much as the other 2. Vagabond takes such a deep look into a man determined not to let his life mean nothing, that'll he'll die proving it.

Absolutely one of the greatest Manga's to ever be made.

In this definitive edition, we have a nice hardcover, very similar to the Berserk deluxe, and very much worth owning thanks to the GORGEOUS art this series provides. On top of that the story is excellent, with a man who is fighting for his very name/survival, and wanting to be something. It's dark, funny at times, brutal at others, and you must read it. A 5 out of 5.

Another great volume. This time we have Kase-San going over to the gf house. Oh my oh my, things get SPICY! (But not too spicy) and of course they're going to different schools...hearts might be broken? A fun series, cute characters.

While I liked some of this a lot, it felt like it wrapped up a bit too quick. And didn't reveal the actions but told you after, not a fan of that. But overall still solid, and I like how dark/brutal this series can get with normal actions from people.

Absolutely amazing. The battle is a few chapters long but also very interesting the whole time. It's really two battles happening at once, and I was worried for everyone involved, simply cause characters can die here. But I also loved the ending of this, and the simple stories after were very effective as well. Oh and those final few pages? All in color? Absolutely stunning.

HOLY SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

This is a crazy fucking issue and contains everything I love. Great dialogue, wonderful character moments, a holy shit moment, brutal fights. This is nearly a perfect issue. Give me more of this. "We run" LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another great issue. Absolute Superman and Wonder Woman have both been really good and continue to be so.

This issue has Lois Lane as more the center of attention this time, trying to work with Supes. But also get a lot more of Lazurus this time. Overall great issue, and a badass superman moment.

Sometimes BIGGER is BETTER.

I liked how Wonder Woman is still so compassionate even under dire situations. It just fits her so well. While the magic part was a little eh, everything else was great.
