Pretty good but not great. It kind of borderline just okay at times. I think this Bruce isn't really clicking for me, cause the idea of him is so much better than the general plot around him. But overall still a fun read just not great like I hoped.

My lord in christ this shit gets even darker.

The main lead, Dash Bad Horse, is going deeper into a hole. After not being able to do a single thing about the kid killed last volume, he's dealing with going lower into the pit of depression with his girlfriend Carol. Red Crow takes care of his business and we get glimpses of his past. A Complicated man trying to do good in his vision but in most people's mindset, he's a piece of shit, and rightfully so. So much happens here, including a move on the asian gang. I wonder how bad this is gonna get in the end.

This was a pretty great solo issue. Basically Matt traveling around dealing with a corrupt fucked up cop town. Good stuff all around.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this but it was pretty enjoyable.

It's about a young up and coming indie gamer creator named Sam. She's trying her best to let people try her first new game, which is received well. That's till a Youtuber named Marshall Law does a let's play and blast it on his channel. He says it's just not a very good game but his followers go extreme and bash and rate it low on the website Sam put the game on. This is called review bombing (This happens all the time. Check out games like Last of Us 2 or Dragon Age Veilguard on Metacritic where 80% of negative reviews aren't actually people who played it but people watching grifter videos on Youtube to form their opinions.)

Anyway this story is actually pretty cute, solid dialogue, and fun characters. I like that Sam by the end stands her ground but it's obvious she's into Marshall. She wants the LAW laid down WITHIN HER. Maybe. But overall I'll keep reading cause very easy and breezy fun read.

Jesus Christ. Just when I think things can't get more fucked up. we add in a con man, his whole chapter reeks of ickiness as he's a two faced asshole who get to see in the mind of. He's just horrible. But this leads to him eventually meeting Bad Horse. Then we get a lot of background filled out on characters, and explosive final issue that's brutal and bloody and a cliffhanger of a ending. I need volume 2 of the Omnibus RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

The choice seems to be made.

We're keeping the baby. But with that choice, family members begin to choose what they believe in. Leaving our two leads, very confused, and hurt. It's great to see young characters try to fix things together instead of needless drama and the family moments are both touching, but also sad, and might make you angry.

I really enjoy the realistic feel to this. Sometimes a bit "This is how the process works" but it has enough human moments to not feel like it's teaching you how this works. A 4 out of 5.

This issue focused on Melvin was way better than it had any right to be. Basically Matt believes the person he's been trying to set straight has gone rogue again. But when he finds the truth we get some great inner monologue of his failure. On top of that the stuff with Melvin is great too. Poor Betsy. The stuff with Foggy is just okay.

I really liked 80% of this.

The first story is probably my favorite. Having Scarecrow as the main villain usually works for me. He's especially unhinged and a piece of shit here, so was nice to see his craziness on full display. I also loved how Badass Batman came off here, but also losing himself to the city's madness. The Mad Hatter story was also pretty good.

The very last story was decent but I think tried to have too many moving pieces and didn't fully click. Loeb tends to throw a TON of villains into his stories, and the joker segment didn't really work for me in the end.

But overall a very fun collection of older stories where Batman has to use both his brains and brawn, to win his battles. A 4 out of 5.

Probably the least fucked up volume so far in this series but still screwed up.

Basically our two main characters make a pact to get the fuck out of this little town. But as always, things get messy, and harder to just "leave". On top of that secrets are exposed, including who's sleeping with who, and by the end you can tell this is ALL going to go to shit before any of these characters become happy...if ever. A 4 out of 5.

Absolutely excellent once more.

We get out of the long arc and back to single chapters which is where this series excels. A great first few chapters and some of the best in the series. One being a dating chapter that's just so dang cute. Another about the hero from the south, truly touching storyline. Overall, as always, this series is so simple yet so damn good.
