Marvel Knights 4, Volume 3: Divine Time

A decent storyline. I think the serious tones are nice, and I like the family dynamic, but also none of the villains are doing ANYTHING for me. I actually liked volume 1's simple nature, barely villains, just everyday life stuff. It worked better.

Hulk going face to face with abomination in opening issue, dealing with the brotherhood of mutants, defenders, and finally the Green Hulk returns. Solid stories, though defender one was a bit too wonky for me, 3.5 out of 5.
It's a solid start, something bit different, but Wild West isn't my favorite genre, so I'm not sure if this will do it for me.
A solid crossover tie in. I will say though felt bit like padding this time around.
Probably cause I read this so far from issue 7-9 but didn't have huge impact but pretty great last page.
This was pretty epic!
We basically have criminals sent on a mission to retrieve something from a city in ruins. And our main lead, Leon, is about to survive some crazy situations in Japan. Creatures mutated beyond belief, a little girl with a lower half of a bird, and a gigantic fire looking dog creature, and plenty of more. This is a fast paced, post apocalyptical, brutal and bloody adventure.
And I really enjoyed this. Was refreshing to have a 30+ year old lead in a Manga. On top of that the action flows nice with some really great fights and deaths. I also am intrigued on who is who, especially the girl who's half bird. I'll be checking out volume 2 for sure!

Basically this feels like Power Rangers Meets Godzilla or Pasific Rim, and for that, it was entertaining enough.
My biggest two drawbacks is reading this digital, all the pages were double presented, I couldn't get one page at a time. Which is odd because none of the other books I read on here (netgallery) had that issue. Saying that, it was still readable just a bit of a pain.
I did enjoy our main hero. Him trying to balance being a hero while also his love life was solid. I liked the queer angle as it's something new for me. I always enjoy different perspectives and thought that was handled well.

Our main character Aoki has a huge crush on Hashimoto, a cute girl in his class. But one day when he borrows her Eraser she sees Ida written on it with a heart. He drops that eraser and his classmate, Ida, picks it up. From there Ida now beleives Aoki, the boy, has a crush on him. And he's not sure how to feel about it. However, through this first volume of Aoki trying to cover for Hashimoto, he begins to develop feelings for Ida as Ida might be for Aoki.
Love is in the air. Bi, queer, and all the fun.
The situations they all get in, the dealing with feelings and such for each other, is a ton of fun. At first I was like how long can this really last though but the twist at the end of the volume got me fully into wanting more.

This was another great volume. Introducing losing a member of the team makes you realize how much they are apart of this group. The art remains impressive, humor still really works well. This series always brings a smile to my face, and I love it for that.
