This is the kind of dark and cold world of Batman I love to read sometimes.

This brings in a lot of new villains, ones older now like Ratcatcher, but brings them in a much more human way. Which makes the way Batman deals with them in a more detective and hands on approach. These villains are ground level, and that makes it just much more exciting for me. The Ratcatcher storyline is the strongest of the bunch but most of the stories here are solid, good characterzation Bruce, and excellent art that moves nice and smooth though the fights.

Overall, this is a great read for Bat fans who want to know how the Dark Knight really formed into the Dark Knight.

A look into the mostly fucked up world of writers and artist who work on comics for a living and then get screwed over by the big wigs.

But really I'm sure it happens world wide. When Brubaker, one of the most talented writers I've ever gotten the chance to read, creates a character such as Winter Soldier, and then those movies and TV shows featuring said character do millions upon millions and billions, and he can't even get into the premier because security doesn't know who he is...it's fucking sad.

So this is the story of a guy who wrote a character called Domain and over the years the character became a smashing hit in the box-office with movies and such, and he's given a few grand anytime a movie comes out despite it doing hundreds of millions and then one day thanks to a fan, he finds out he might own the rights to the character. So with the help of his family, which is one dysfunctional ass family, they begin to start a new company.

It's a great mix of humor, real life events, mixed with some wonderful family drama. I mixed Zdarsky art a lot from Sex Criminals and he doesn't miss a beat. On top of that his writing is as sharp as ever and highly entertaining. This first volume is honestly a must read for fans of comics in general. A 4.5 out of 5.

If you haven't noticed from my reading tendencies as of late, I'm on a bit of a Batman kick.

I read ALOT of late 90's, 2000's, and current Batman stories. But I missed a lot of the late 80's, early 90's, besides Knightfall. So I'm glad to finally read some of these on my Infinite app and man oh man, Batman Shaman is a great one to land on.

After reading The Question Omnibus it is NO question that Dennis O'Neil was a DAMN fine writer. He had a way with giving us realistic dialogue in a time where that wasn't always the case. A deep look into Batman's view points and why he does what he does in the early years. A Almost year one story but I think the cult like villains, more detective feel than expected, and a inexperience Batman really helped this title out. It's also the artist, who fucking NAILED Batman's feel and look. Some amazing shots in here that I want as posters.

Overall, besides a a little bit of a weaker ending than I wanted, this is a DAMN fine Batman story. A 4.5 out of 5.

This is just such a charming series filled with such happy moments.

Even more so if you have a little daughter around Yotsuba age.

This volume contains fishing adventures, we also get some shopping for food with daddy, a really fun issue of working out, and much more. These are slice of life chapters in the best way possible, with just enough humor to make all the characters really work. From the neighbors, to the father, to Jimbo, I love every character here.

If I'm in a bad mood, this is the series I go to. A 5 out of 5.

Books of Magic continues to be highly entertaining.

This time Tim has to go to Hell, or get through hell, to save Molly. But Molly isn't just going to sit back and let the hellish creatures run shit. She's going to push through and try to save herself. This leads to some really crazy, weird, and fun adventures with Tim trying to make his way through trials and such, including his own internal thoughts, to do so. We also get a bit more of Tim from the future, and things are shaping up to be interesting when that Tim meets our Tim.

Overall, weird and fun. Hell isn't dark and brooding, but more twisty and turny, and I'm all for it. A 4 out of 5.

Most issues in this run were good to great. This is garbage. Dumb alien invasion storyline with a even dumber ending.

The end is nearly here. Lots of death. Plans are getting screwed up. I wonder how this can end, but the Alien Queen is not happy.

Damn this is so damn good. Alec is back and not to happy. He was finally living his dream with his wife and kid but too many are dying. The fight against the Green is here, and many shall fall.

One of the best Swamp thing stories I read and that's saying something!

A solid celebration issue.

Basically you have different artist even though it's one big story so the different art styles feel really out of place at times. I just didn't love that.

Also heartless big plan just seems kind of similar to Bane. Which is a let down.

But the moment with Dick and Bruce is amazing, and this is basically setting up The Titans new series in a lot of ways. A 3 out of 5.
