While this volume feels a bit bloated at the start with going back in time to get the history and then Luffy failing multiple times to make his move at the end, the middle is extremely strong and touching. Evoking emotions from angry, sad, and tearful with the backstory. Overall, It was needed to boost this arc.

If they cut down on the dialogue, some this would have been better. Just so much needlessly repeating the powers and situations despite it only being a six issue mini.

Saying that Kitty's growth and also watching both Kitty and Logan face off against an extremely powerful foe was a nice change of pace. Some cool fight scenes and moments, mostly for kitty. As a Logan story it was aite.

I liked wolverines characterization here, but the main story was, eh? Just kind of boring and cap even came off uninteresting. Just meh all together.

Peter Parker is actually on the verge of a nervous breakdown about 85% of the time in this book and I love it.

Harry returns and Peter panics. The fear of MJ getting hurt again by a Osborn grows after the events of the last few volumes. Poor Gwen. Poor Ben. Peter is at his breaking point here and it's crazy to believe a 16 year old can carry all that weight and not go berserk. His anger gets the better of him, while MJ makes a few mistakes herself, leading Harry to go one on one against Peter as the Hobgoblin shows his face!

It's a pretty screwed up volume, the fight is pretty epic as well. Very raw, with emotion to back up the entire fight. I loved that part and Peter losing himself to fear. The last issue was decent, but kind of cheesy for what I would have wanted. But overall a great volume. A 4 out of 5.

Snoozefest. Claremont writing style is either for you or not. This wolverine so boring though.

Wolverine's first volume of his first long running series is...decent.

So after some major events, Logan is now Patch. He wants the world to think wolverine is dead, so in doing so, he takes on underground type missions. One of his first missions is to safe Jessica Drew, AKA, Spider-Woman. Along the way we get to see the Silver Samurai as well as the next adventure beginning with two creatures, one a musclehead bulldozer and a vampire like person.

The thing is these aren't all that amazing. It's simple adventures, a little noir flavor, but it doesn't have the grit I want from a solo wolverine comic. Not to mention, and I know not a lot will agree with me, but Chris Claremont overwrites scenes. Too much internal dialogue ruining fight scenes that otherwise could be simple and effective. I also think him recapping his own series every issue can be real annoying.

Overall though I didn't hate read it. They were fun enough, Wolverine...I mean Patch was cool enough as a hero. it just feels very typical late 80's, early 90's action star and I want more from a Wolverine comic is all. a 3 out of 5.

Deku is not doing well.

After the major events of the last few volumes out happy go lucky boy is full on rage mode. Going after the villain's, HUNTING them, till he finds every last one and stops them. First he goes up against a sniper, who used to be a hero, which had a interesting twist and nice perspective challenge. Then we head into full on, beast, tired, and not stopping Deku with his costume always on to clearly cover his face which must be so rigid at this point.

This is a darker chapter in Deku's life but much needed after the heavy events from the last few volumes. I'm wondering if we can carry this darker more sinister and somber tone, and if we can, where are we going with it? Either way I'm back fully in.

Solid stuff with Flash Family beating the rogues, always a good time. The new big flash event begins next!

Felt like going back in time. Read nearly all Batman runs and such since Knight Fall so figured why not try this out.

A dark tale of death and murder with no real closure. Sadly a lot of murders aren't solved in a single week, month, or even year. And Batman, despite him being a detective, can fuck up too. It's great to see the detective side of things, but also Bruce's forming into a flawed but determined dark knight. Some solid stuff here.

Very strong issue.

This is the one where Dick comes to Bruce to find out why the hell Bruce is training a new Robin (Todd) and it's well done. I mean Dick is angry, young, rash. Bruce is older, somber, but doesn't know how to show his true feelings. Head to head, these two yell more than talk half the time, and it works well based on their relationship. A bit shattered, but a perfect way to build up both Bruce and Dick and show how Dick really is helping Todd learn how to take down baddies.

Overall, great stuff. This Starlin run is really starting to surprise me.
