Detective Comics (2016-) #1061
Nadia Shammas, David Lapham, Brad Anderson, Sina Grace, Ivan Reis, Mariko Tamaki, Danny Miki
The end to Mariko's run. While it ended decent, I do feel the last arc was a better ending point. Still, nice to see Batman trying to get justice but no way to. It's always a interesting outlook. Backup story sucked.
Superman: Son of Kal-El (2021-) #18
Tom Taylor, Scott Hanna, Travis Moore, Cian Tormey, Tamra Bonvillain, Ruairi Coleman
A decent ending to a decent series.
Superman Son of Kal-El never did live up to what I was hoping. Which is a shame.
I love Jon. I love Tom Taylor's work. This just felt like it never fully got there. Saying that I enjoyed it for the most part. Some really good moments for Jon to grow, a great issue with his father at the start and the end, and good world building. But man, the villains and his boyfriend just didn't do anything for me. Didn't care about any of them.
I am hoping this changes though and I will check out the next mini series. But for now we say goodbye and Hi to Clark Kent taking over the Superman title once more.

A very strong annual.
The first part is the best part. Gives us the origins of the heartless villain and now I'm 100% invested in him and how he'll be a big bad for Dick. The second story is cute, about Hayley the dog hero. Last story is about Nightwing training Jon Kent (Superman) and it's pretty great to see how he trains him verses how Batman trained Robin.
Overall, really solid issue with a lot of "heart" get it? Heart? Hahaha...okay leaving now.

A decent Return special. I think the first story is really well done with Supes and Batman but the rest are just decent that don't really stick the landing or do anything special. A decent return for the hero but could have been better.
Actually way more fun than I thought it be.
Jon does his best to step in for Clark as Superman and try to rile up people to be the new Justice League to help protect the world. However, those plans are a lot harder to follow through on when the entire world doesn't have a leader like before. The ending is explosive to say the least, and a interesting way to kick off this event.

Can't believe how much I'm enjoying this event. I had no real interest in it but damn it is fun.
You get Nightwing being the hero we all know and love. Standing up to evil no matter the odds. On top of that Jon gets to REALLY shine here as a hero, and I loved it. Great fight scenes, good humor, badass moments. Yeah, this crisis might be better than I ever expected.

A build up after the explosive last issue. Nice to see Hal useful and Jon still comes across great. But nothing major happens here.
A solid but not remarkable issue. It's nice to dive deeper Into things, everything with Nighteing worked, but the legion stuff was just decent.
The end is almost upon us. Our justice league might return but will it all be too late?
If nothing else this event gives so many GREAT Moments for Jon to shine. He's a true MVP here and the reunion? So fucking good.
