Heavy Midnighter issue? Yes please. This was great, watching the heroes finally turn the tables some. It'll be a bit before we see the full revolution but I'm liking the direction.
Action Comics (2016-) #1042
Adriana Melo, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Shawn Aldridge, Riccardo Federici
The art is fantastic and Superman being a goddamn badass is always great. But the backup issue and a bit of padding stop this from being a 5 star. The backup issues are pretty shitty TBH.
Action Comics (2016-) #1043
Dale Eaglesham, Ben Templesmith, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Will Conrad, Riccardo Federici, Brad Anderson
A decent issue. A lot of planning on what to do next. This def feels maybe this storyline is adding padding to flush it out, but the art is still fantastic.
Action Comics 2022 Annual
Dale Eaglesham, Ian Churchill, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Francesco Francavilla, Simon Spurrier
Now THIS was fantastic. A tale of two people, two warriors really, and how their upbringing formed them into who they are. Clark and his childhood verses Mongols, and shit, it's stunning how different and similar they were. Loved it, with great art, and a ending that really touched me. One of my favorite annuals ever.
More planning. But the end is interesting, and think we're about to get into some big battles. The end is coming.
Action Comics (2016-) #1046
Fico Ossio, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Lucio Parrillo
God the art is so goddamn epic. Superman is so well written. And that ending...damn it. Hyped for the conclusion.
Action Comics (2016-) #1047

The return of superman to earth! It's nice to see Clark back, and even having to deal with the public so soon after leaving them. But this issue feels more like setting up the next big plots than moving anything big forward.
Little backstory to find out how everyone fit into place in terms of Bruce and Clark being brother. It's fine, and the art is still great, but nothing super different or interesting happened in the backstory.
A nice pickup from last issue of backstory. This time we have Princess Diana wanting answers and we begin to see it all break apart. Who really is who, and what is happening. This is a pretty crazy twisty twist issue. A 4 out of 5.
Oh man, the war is brewing and this isn't looking good. If these guys don't get their shit together a lot of people are going to die.
