A classic but I wasn't in love. I didn't get attached to anyone. But some of the story structure was interesting, nice twist here or there, and the art remains great.
This volume was actually pretty damn fun.
The gang finally got shot into the sky and forced into Soul Society. But of course Ichigo is met with aggression as one of the soul reapers decides he doesn't belong. Will Ichigo be able to stop him? Will the others not separated from their leaders be able to come together? Oh and behind the scenes the captains of the soul society seem to be having their own civil war.
All of this works for most part. Predictable? yes. But fun and exciting because of the well drawn fight scenes, decent comedy moments, and well paced action. Soul Society is where it gets good, and if I remember correctly after this becomes great. A 3.5 out of 5.

Naruto returns 2 years later!
This is where Naruto and Sakura get to show off all their training they did. On top of that we get a nice reunion with a ton of characters. Get to see Gara again and how he's running his nation. We also get to see the new baddies in action and right away they cause some big havoc.
I liked how this wasted very little time. Going after one of the strongest characters is smart. On top of that this volume really expands the world outside of just Naruto which was nice. The stuff with Naruto felt like it was repeating a bit of the original part of the series but it had its moments of being charming.
Overall, a solid start to the second half of Naruto. a 3.5 out of 5.

This was great. Peter really does as good a job as Johns on Green Lantern.
This is the story of Guy and John teaming up and trying to find out what happened to a whole planet of dead aliens. What they find is something far more dangerous than either have expected and they come full on to take out the Green Lantern. This is a action packed volume with huge fights, emotion, and great surprises.
To be honest I was worried Peter would have lost some of his edge by now in writing Green Lantern but he's back with a vengeance. Detailing a awesome story with sicko bad guys and great chemistry with the cast. Guy and John have never been more likable in my opinion and the fights and a huge twist on the story line and last issue made this extremely enjoyable.
While a bit too wordy at times it hit all the right levels for me. A 4.5 out of 5.

This was okay. Not a huge fan of how Doom is here. He's just the typical evil villain, which kind of sucks, because Slott usually does villains well. Also the art can be hit or miss. I do really like the more family moments and those work really well. Too bad the adventures aren't as fun.
An extremely satisfying issue for Hulking fans. I love Teddy and this captures everything good about him. You get to see his love life, you get to see him having to take responsibility of being a King, and you get to see him be a goddamn badass. If you're a fan of Hulking or want to know why Empyre might be a solid event, check this issue out. Can read it even before begin Empyre. A 4 out of 5!
Finding purpose in life is very important and Inuyashiki finds it.
Healing people, protecting them, bringing the dead back to life. Inuyashiki has found his calling. On the flipside Hiro is trying to figure out his. In this volume we have a lot of soul searching, intense one on one meetings, and the end of the world coming. While this was a quieter volume than the previous ones I actually enjoyed it. Too bad it took all of 10 minutes to read. A 3.5 out of 5.

Wow each volume 1 of the New 52 Green Lanterns (Save for Red Lantern) was great
This might be one of my favorite things Tony Bedard made, or might just be his best. We have Kyle all of a sudden get stuck with power rings from all the different corps. So EVERYONE is after his ass. He goes back to OA but of course the Guardians have been pieces of shit and treat him like he's nothing. On top of that we have a new "villain" per say that is extremely powerful.
This was high paced, fun, exciting, and plenty of lolz moments. I loved almost all of it. Sure, sometimes it was to convenient where people were or what they set up. But I enjoyed the encounters, the fights, the humor, and pretty much everything else. A great start to the "New Guardians" series. It helps Kyle is the lead here too since he's the best Green Lantern.

And that is the end to this strange and weird series by the creator of Gantz.
We went from street level gangs, to mass murders, to saving the world. Talk about jumping around in genres. Inuyashiki must make a choice to save humanity with his powers. A asteroid is heading to earth and Donald Trump has declared we're all dead and to rape and kill as much as you like after failed attempts to stop the meteor. So Inuyashiki heads up to try and save everyone.
I actually enjoyed this somber volume. It's more a look into what makes us happy and why we do what we do. The action scenes are small but man, in this volume they are drawn wonderfully. Especially a shot of Inuyashiki giving it everything to try and stop the meteor. I also enjoyed a lot of the small character moments and even the bitter sweet ending.
This series wasn't great all the time. It remained pretty good but not great. And I'll probably remember it but can't help but wish it was slightly better. Still I'll it a 3.5 as a series, and this one a 4.

Green lantern is reeving up to end Johns run here as he tells his last few stories.
The first half is about Senistro and Hal working together again. This kind of feels like a replay of volume 1 but it also builds up to something really interesting with first lantern. Then the second story is all about Black Hand and his crazy ass. The end left me kind of confused on how it can be reversed but nobody stays dead forever, right?
This was pretty good. I mean solid writing, good art, pretty great set up for the next and final event for Johns run. But nothing was blowing me away. I didn't feel that "invested" for some reason. Just feels disconnected or run of the mil storytelling. However, still solid enough to enjoy. A 3 out of 5.
