This series obviously is aiming for fans of sex, funniness, and heartbreaking drama. I began reading this years ago, and only now finished the last two volumes. They're not horrible, and fun characters to boot. If you can accept women are reading fifty shades of gray, you could enjoy this one easily. The ending is pretty sad, and makes this a stronger story than it started at. Just note, if you read this, except a lot of boobs and butts, and weird crazy Japanese things.
I'd give it a two and a half, just for rhino. His storyline was interesting and fun. the second half of this? trash. Struggling to read comics based on my favorite superhero makes me one sad ass panda. =(
it's more of a 3.5, but fuck it. This was a fun little story, with good humor spread throughout and a overall fun plot, even if it's been done a million times. it's really the characters friendship that lets this one shine.
Just as fun and dark as the last few, though the second half is a little slow at moments with a solid payoff. The first half though, so damn good. Especially the breakout. Overall, if you loved Brain's run you'll sure to enjoy this one as well!
Now THIS is what I'm talking about. A badass showdown? Character development? Plot progression in a timely manner? Yes, yes, and YES. The only real negative is some of the characters are a bit too over the top at parts but overall, this is a much better volume than the first. Especially adding in the showdown having weight instead of feeling like a add in.
I don't give fives out unless I truly think the book is so damn good that the negatives mean nothing to me. A few ultimate Spider-man volumes, Y the last man, Sega, Bendis DD, Pride, and a few others. This now joins the rank. Crude as all hell, Rat Queens is entertaining from page one to the end. It calls out a lot of bullshit you see in RPG games or shows or animes but having fun with it. Plus, the characters just have so much life to them you can't help but love them. I was laughing the whole way through and can't wait to read volume 2.
While not as amazing as Volume 1, 2 still offers plenty to love. A few twist and turns, and some great banter between characters really keep this one enjoyable as the last. However, the big bad in this wasn't nearly as fun or interesting as the first volume for me. The backstory was solid but didn't love some of them. Still, a must read, just not as mindblowingly amazing as volume 1.
I fucking LOVED this one. Probably my second fave Daredevil arc. To watch the hero lose everything, no matter how hard he tries, is truly amazing to read. Made me feel so bad for Matt, while loving the bad guy (Mr. Fear). Overall, this is some stunning stuff and can't wait to begin part 3.
Really enjoyed the first half, second half not as much. The ending kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth, while the first half I couldn't stop reading. Still, a hell of a ride throughout. Watching a character grow thoughout is truly interesting. Worth reading for sure.
A ghost rider story I LIKE? Who would have guessed! It really is a fun as heck story to read. Fast paced, amazing art, some wonderful fight scenes, and a main character you can really get behind. Not to mention a story and setting that are out of the norm with Marvel. Some over the top dialog can't stop this one too much. It's just toooooo fun to read and I will get Volume 2 right away!
