Not as good as volume 2-3 but a nice close up.

So we have Clayface for this volume. Don't get me wrong, I always found him kind of a scary villain. I mean his powerset is pretty insane. But on top of that I just came from detective comics run in rebirth, which made Clayface good, so was a bit jarring the character change but Gregg does a great job of making him a villain with a sound pity story. The 2nd half of this book, or later half, is mostly just one shot adventures for the Batman.

Good: I really enjoyed Clayface story and take. Showed how scary he could be and how pitiful is reasoning is for becoming a villain. I thought that showing him being semi-smart was a nice change, and I liked the first few pages SO much I thought it might be the best story ever for Clayface. Oh, and I liked the art throughout.

Bad: The clayface story came to a end a little to quick for my liking. Also, the side stories or one/two shots at the end were just okay. I don't think they were even written by Gregg.

Overall, a decent conclusion to a otherwise great run (still gotta read volume 1) But Gregg really gave some love to Batman's villains and they are indeed scary. A 3 out of 5.

This was just not for me.

Tony is back from the dead with his best buddy James. Tony is really wanting to enjoy life now, he's more positive thinking, and wanting to basically run the world because...well he's Iron-man. But in a good way. This is a big explosive arc of...not really fun...adventures...kind of...

Good: The idea of Tony being happier and wanting to do all these fun adventures sounds good and I like James in this.

Bad: The art is far too busy, hard to tell what's happening half the time. The fights and such are boring too. The dialogue is far too much to really actually care about the characters. Tony is borderline fucking annoying here as well.

Overall, I expected way better. This is not a title I can recommend really. A 2 out of 5.

Power Rangers stops for a moment, instead of going to another big epic, let's our characters do daily missions to help people.

This is actually broken into a few sections. First, showing Jason losing his mind when working all the time to get the Power Rangers on the next mission. After doing this over and over again it leads to working with Sterling, a agent fighting to stop the evils of the world. Them with the rangers decide to face off against the evils, but who is sterling? Next arc, or one shot, is about sterling first power ranger mission and how she became one.

Good: The one shot is great. Learning about Sterling's past was awesome but wasn't prepared for how dark it got. Some fucked up deaths in this one. I also think the art and design still works well even 5 volumes in. I think the more down to earth stories worked better this time around.

Bad: The big villain in here was...bad. I mean really bad. Not in a good/bad way, just shitty. I also thought the pacing was a bit too slow and too much exposition throughout various issues.

Overall, it's solid, good volume. Better than last but not as good as volume 2-3. Still, power rangers remains a engaging read as always. A 3.5 out of 5.

Animosity continues to be a solid, yet flawed, title.

So we established animals can now talk and are much smarter than before. We have our main cast of animals and humans together on a path to get Jesse (our main female protagonist, who happens to be a badass 12 year old girl) over to California. We have Sandor, her faithful companion, who is ready to defend her no matter what. This time though, we have a new foe. THE DRAGON! I mighty creature who wants to harm our human friends and animals alike.

Good: I still like the core cast. Especially Jesse and Sandor. They make for a awesome duo, and the father/daughter protection they got going on is great. I also enjoyed expanding the side cast this time, getting to know each one, and also dealing with problems such as Jesse first period or Sandor's major conflict in the end.

Bad: The foe, or creature, villain, whatever want to call him, is pretty lame. I don't want to spoil it, but his myth is better than him. Also, the dialogue sometimes tips over to silly or over the top.

Overall, a solid volume that's good enough I read it in one sitting and intriguing enough to continue the series. This is a 3 out of 5.

I'm going to be 100% honest, this is a pretty insane fucking book, but it's also pretty fun.

So what's it about? Well, Val, our main character, is trying to write up a piece for Antonio Luna. At first she visits him to get his life story as he lays sick in his deathbed (Get the title?) then these monsters come to attack him, and he jumps out, completely naked, and kills them all. He then promises Val that this mission will be a once in a lifetime chance to join him on an adventure. She agrees and tus we head into issue 2 of this insane world.

Good: I enjoyed the bright and zanny atmosphere and colors. Worked real well. Luna is just insanely badass at points, but also kind of so stupid it hurts. Val is pretty fun, I like her attitude, and her determination is admirable, and this story goes all over the place so it's never boring.

Bad: With so much happening it can be a bit overwhelming and you never get a chance to breath a little. I also thought the ending was kind of meh and we could have gotten a few arcs visiting this universe.

Overall, a solid 3 out of 5. Not mind-blowing but different enough that you'd want to check it out for sure.

Donny, stop, I'm serious. It's like I want to read something bad from you so I'm not completely fucking jealous of how good you are.

Okay enough of me fanboying.

Who is Thanos? Well after infinity War the dude has lunchboxes so I'm sure 90% of people reading this know who he is now. The big purple guy who killed a lot of people. Well now he's sent from a special someone in the future to help him fight. Who else could it be but OLD MAN Thanos. yes. I shit you not. Old Thanos has killed pretty much everyone but there is one who challenges him and now he can't face him alone. So current Thanos is there to help him.

Good: Loved the majority of the dialog. Epic when needed, funny, and a breeze to read through. Love the hell out of the pacing, never a dull moment. A lot of great character's introduced, the best being Cosmic Ghost Rider of course and his backstory. The whole story is really interesting and kind of ends on a bitter sweet note that can't help but love.

Bad: Wasn't in love with the annual. Cute parts aside it was kind of just a okay issue amongst the rest of this thrilling tale.

Overall great title. Donny keeps pushing these excellent stories out and they are just never freaking dull. I love it. He is bringing Marvel back to the fun I once had. Thank you man. 4.5 out of 5.

Well I'll give this volume credit, it tried something a bit new.

This time we have Yuzu in a more political issue, where if she doesn't state what she is or who she is Mei might get suspended or expelled. Atleast a new angle instead of Yuzu running around being a silly goose in love. This time she depends on Mei for some emotional support, and maybe this time Mei decides to help! It's a what if, maybe, who knows volume.

Good: I still think the kissing scenes are the highlight of the series. Can blame me? It's two hot girls kissing. But the thing is the artist like goes into extra detail when that happens. I also still think it remains pretty funny which is a surprise.

Bad: The story isn't all that interesting this time around despite trying something a bit new. I also thought the progression of their "relationship" felt stilted when last volume I thought we were going forward quicker.

Overall, another good volume. I mean, this series is about two step sisters falling in love, so it's trashy and silly, but overall not bad. A 3 out of 5 like most of the series.

Sentry is back! He's a pretty intriguing hero/villain for me despite a lot of people hating him. Here, we have the famous Jeff Lemire at the helm to try and make it worth reading. Jeff Lemire is a hit with creator own stuff, but big 2? Questionable. So let's see...

Sentry, or I should say Bob, is trying to live a normal life. Being a line cook, going into his own mind to be Sentry for a bit and keep the void at bay, and just trying to be normal. That is until his machine that was built by Tony and Doctor Strange is taken from him and he can't go into his mind to calm himself. This leaves him breaking apart, and after a new foe emerges, the Sentry finally awakens in a way we've never seen before.

Good: The art is fantastic. Very stylish and the fights look AWESOME. There's big epic moments that truly showcase the art in the best ways. The struggle for poor Bob to try to be a decent person is both enticing to watch and sad. However, by the end you are more scared of him than anything. The betrayal cuts deep for long time Sentry readers and leads up to a interesting twist on the character.

Bad: The ending is a big "what comes next!?" type ending in which case we don't know and it can be frustrating when nothing else is announced.

Overall, a great little mini-series. I think with some love, a writer can make a super cool tale of Sentry. He's basically a broken mess of a guy trying to be Superman with a super evil side. I love it. A 4 out of 5 for this one.

I don't really know how to feel about this. Kind of...senseless?

So the Inhabitor's or whatever, are back, and they are hunting down the Spider-people AGAIN. This time though the teams are led by Miles and Doc ock to save the universe. It's basically a bunch of issues of different spider-people coming in and out of the series to face off against the big bads and their many versions.

Good: The colorful artwork is always nice, getting to see all the spider-people team up, and of course the humor is all solid. Christos Gage has a knack for writing a actual FUNNY Peter Parker, even bringing in his PS4 version to the universe. I also enjoyed the idea of this story and the end of Spider-people.

Bad: The ending...pretty bad. Just like any event, it's a big wrap up of everyone fighting and then all the good guys win. Also, the middle half feels congested and confusing and if not reading any of the spin-offs you'll be wondering what's happening.

Overall, a okayish event. Not horrible but basically like any Spider-man event, just okay. I hope Christos Gage gets to write more Spider-man but just solo books. A 2.5-3 out of 5.

Short reviews from here on put till get back from San Diego!

This was a dark story of Magneto as a kid growing up during the holocaust. It's powerful visually and well told but I thought it ran so quick through events I couldn't get attached. Still, a very different and interesting tale.
