I loved this book! It felt real, challenging, honest, and tackled relevant material. It was also beautifully written.

Absolutely loved this book. Tara Westover’s life and upbringing seem almost unbelievable, and her transformation to an educated, questioning individual is both inspiring and emotional.

James Baldwin’s writing is elegant, poetic, and moving. You can feel, almost see, the love between the two main characters, Fonny and Tish. Their story is both heartbreaking and inspired.

I liked the intention of this book, to make us live each day fully, as if it was a lifetime in itself. But I just never connected with the characters or the story. It felt a bit too far from reach.
