I thought this book was interesting, but just ok. There really isn’t all that much that happens, and it’s a style of writing I’m not sure I’ve ever read before. Each paragraph was basically a huge single sentence - there’s no proper dialogue notation - it’s all just single sentences.

The overall idea of the book was fascinating, but I just wish some more had happened and it went a bit deeper.

I loved this play. I loved the questions it brought up about Doubt itself, and how when you fight for something so hard, you begging you make yourself doubt something you once felt so strongly about.

I love Michelle Obama - she’s filled with so much hope and inspiration for the country, and I love hearing all of her stories about her time in the White House.

Really didn’t love this book. I was hoping to feel more inspired by the stories, but I ended up just being fairly bored most of the time. It was a nice quick read which is always nice, though!

I didn’t love this book. I enjoy a good thriller / mystery, but so much of this book was about sex and so many descriptions that felt unnecessary and out of place. I also felt the
ending twist where we learn that Verity actually did NOT do anything we just spent 300 pages reading about
is really cheap.

I wanted to read this book before I watched the Amazon Series, and I’m so glad I did. It really kept me engaged and interested the whole time, and I always love a story about someone’s rise to fame. I really liked that the story was told in interviews from all of the band members, and that some of their recalling of events didn’t exactly match. Looking forward to the series - and also just another book of Taylor Jenkins Reid that I’ve really enjoyed!

This book was such a fun, fast read. It had a few really deep moments, but overall was very clever and hilarious. The chapters were so short and I almost wish there was a little more to them, but it was also nice to just read a book where you can move through it so quickly.

I really related to this book in its connection and reflection growing up in a small town and then coming back after moving to a big city. I thought the book moved really fast and it made me think a lot about life and my parents and my relationship to myself and others. It also brought a lot of life to the ideas around how our towns are structured and how many issues and inequities we don’t all see exist.

I’m not normally one for fantasy, but I am so glad this book was chosen as one of my book club reads. I found the characters and story so engaging, and loved that incorporated elements of mystery and of courtroom-like drama. It moved fast and you really felt like you were on this journey with the main character, Shori.

I did NOT like this book. It was one of the most boring books I have ever read. Once in a while there was a really nice line or passage, but overall it was filled with long and repetitive descriptions that felt increasingly useless. The mood of the entire book was just depressing, too, focusing on this man who is getting older, his friend who is dying, and describing all the ways his parents died and people in his neighborhood died. I got literally no satisfaction out of reading this book.
