I received a copy of this book from the author to read and review.

I'm so glad I did as I never would have stumbled across it otherwise! What a wonderful read, I really enjoyed this little fantasy story that's fantasy with a little magical realism. 

Damian is a war mage but also a bit of a slacker, playing poker and coming close to enraging his game mates once too often.

It has some feels of Fifth Element about it with the love interest, a bit of humour à la Deadpool or Star Lord (some of my faves in the movie world) and a good storyline. Fade to black in the 'bedroom' scenes, which is my preference.  

I'll not reveal too much, but what unfolds is an enthralling story to ride along on, and the epilogue promises more to come from this fab debut author that I thoroughly look forward to!
