Reminiscent of To Kill a Mockingbird and Atonement - delivers a lot for a short book - that said I felt like it was quite predictable and familiar so nothing really surprised me - well written but not super memorable, potentially because in my mind it bridges the gap between the two mentioned. Writing really hooks you in though.
Undoubtedly really good and one which will stick with me- but one which requires analysing to really love I think, and that wasn't me this time. Although, I did enjoy how a lot of the ideas were explored and parallels drawn. The writing in present tense was effective in that it felt oppressive. Combining with an audiobook definitely helped keep up my momentum with this book.
