The Stars Are Dying was a decent/okay book. It had the potential to be a good book, but it fell a little flat for me unfortunately.

**Spoiler free review**
The plot was pretty predictable and I was able to guess what each "twist" was as I was reading it. There were also multiple, small typos and grammatical errors sprinkled here and there, which is a HUGE bummer for me. Whoever Chloe's editor was should be fired for how many errors that were missed and not corrected. The book follows the usual romantasy genre formula, but I was still able to enjoy the book while I was reading it.

Another criticism I have for the book is how slow the pacing was. It was agonizingly slow at times, and felt like I was crawling in slow-motion to get through it during certain points in the plot. However, once it picked up--it picked up. Completely. I would say the ending of the book is what made the book decent for me honestly. The was not much world-building, at least in my opinion. And the magic system was...somehow, surprisingly absent? Especially with this being a fantasy book? It was definitely there but also...not there? It's hard for me to explain without giving away any spoilers.

Would I recommend it to others? Debatable. The second book seems more interesting than this one, and I would recommend reading this if you plan to read the series completely.

My review is more on the negative side of the spectrum, but it was still worth the read in my personal opinion. I have hopes for the second book being more refined than this one.
