That was the most unsatisfying ending I've ever read.

Decided to leave this one unrated. I'm in two minds about this book. On the one hand, it's very well written and engaging, and I enjoyed the audiobook a lot. But I can't ignore that we have a trans main character who is Black and Comanche being written by a white woman. The author's note states how she felt intimidated writing this main character and that just makes me question whether she's the right person to write about it. This book focuses heavily on internalised racism and misogyny and as a white woman myself I don't feel comfortable passing judgement on how that was done. I think I'd like to see how a native person-of-colour might write a story like this.
