This didn't land for me. I dunno. The start was creepy and well done, with a really interesting approach on a haunted town, but then the characters felt flat and completely 2D. I didn't care at all by the end of this book. I wasn't scared by the end of the book, just bored.

I liked this short story. It was kind of giving me 2010s YA dystopia vibes though, rather than the twisty adult stories I've come to expect from these collections. But I don't hate that. It was fun to listen to, and I liked the way that Persephone was characterised. Though this was a short read, it implied a lot about the wider world of this universe, and made me curious about who else had experienced what Persephone was going through. Definitely an interesting short read, though it lacked a little impact and punchiness.

I don't even know what to say about this story. I absolutely loved it. The way it unfolds is heartbreaking and beautiful, and I loved the way that the narrative voice (2nd and 1st person) was used to create character and to tell the story. I'm glad I bought this one because I know that I'm going to reread this one over and over. It's twisted and sad and oh-so-beautiful, and didn't remotely go the way I was anticipating, instead becoming a tale of the cost of power.

This was so silly and SO fun
