It was fine.

This was never one of my favorite books in the series and it still isn't. But I do think it's better than I remembered and makes sense within the series. When I was younger, I just never realized how essential this book/period was for Alanna's character arc and growth.

Fantastic. I'm not too sold on some world building details, but this was pretty great.

This was one of the better stand-alone fantasy books out there I think. Great balance of world building and characters without getting too long or too off track. I love how the romance was secondary to plot.
