I wasn't really expecting to like this book so much. The beginning was okay and the middle was good too, but the ending was absolutely fantastically written.

I just loved it. The prose was beautiful and complex.

I just couldn't stay interested in this book and Vicky just wasn't that compelling of a character. The entire plot, love subplot, and characterizations were just off somehow. The book would talk about problems with age differences amoung potential romantic partners and then just do nothing about it. There were a lot of examples of this, where discussions about important topics were left incomplete. It was just unsatisfying to read.

While I admit I felt rather distracted when reading this, I honestly just couldn't get super into it. Which is a shame because I so wanted to love it. There were occasional great lines and moments that were gleefully surprising though, so I definitely want to re-read this book again, when I'm more in the mood. Peter is a fascinating character.

I read it for an English class. It's not something that I would pick out for myself, but I do enjoy New Yorker-style humour, so it was enjoyable overall.

I really adored this book. The character, perspective, and general prose were just all so on point and hit the right spots. It totally got me out of my reading slump. I do want to re-read this at some point though, since I kind of had to rush at the end because of a library loan.

It was fine overall I suppose. It just wasn't something I was completely interested in.

It's more that I was in a reading slump than the book itself. It was interesting though and I did find all the characters to be really engaging and fun. It's kind of rare to find a good horror thiller with great characters.

To be honest, this was a pretty bad one. The characters weren't well developed and it was really only a fragmented plot driving the novel. Also, there was some period appropriate racism towards Asian people (disparaging comments and the use of 'oriental') from both Vicky's family and the antagonist and it was a little disheartening.

I want to read it, but it expired and it's only available online.

Finally read a hardcopy. It was pretty good. I thought it was unique both in format and concept. There were a few aspects I wish were better executed and a few loose ends, but I really enjoyed it.
