The book is told from 2 perspectives Tessa and corrick. Both characters are a product of their respective world and have a very defined voice.  The story moves quickly and is very compelling. It raises questions about the disparity between classes and the distributioI of power. I am looking forward to reading the second book.

The characters are flawed but likeable.  They are an unlikely bunch to work together but it makes them all better. The story moves quickly and is engaging.  It ends in a cliffhanger. 

I am a big fan of TJ Klune's books but had not read any of his earlier work. This books had great elements of found family and the characters learning they are more than they have ever imagined.  However, the book is definitely spicy and that was a departure from his more recent books. If you are someone who does not enjoy very descriptive sex scenes this book may be jarring. I loved the characters and want to read the rest of the series to see where they go from here.
