Love the bi-representation in this book! I really loved how the complex the characters were and how their was no clear villains & heroes just complicated people navigating life. This was the first book I’ve ever read by Taylor Jenkins Reid and if her other books are like this one I may just have found a new favourite author. 

My fourth book my Ashley Poston. I loved the Once Upon a Con series. This book wasn’t enjoyed in the same way.

Spice is limited in this book I saw another reviewer describe it as ‘ 3rd based then fade to black’ I agree with them.
This isn’t a book I’d reread but it was enjoyable enough read for a day. The concepts are often explored on a superficial level.

2. People who enjoy real world x story book world crossovers 

MC is suicidal. The cat dies in the first 10 pages. You also relive the death of the cat multiple times. I’m probably just not in a place for this book my cat passed away. I think the trauma of this book isnt worth the ending. But if you want to cry or want to be traumatised this is your book

I loved these characters and how hard they worked to understand one another while still meeting their own needs.

This sapphic is romance,
Is coming of age , finding your sexuality.
The pacing was slower than my preferred pacing for a Romantasy.
I would say it’s on the cusp of slow for pacing 
“I’ll have no place you’ll have me”.

Due to allegations against this author I have abandoned this book

If you’re a fan of gore scenes this book is for you. It was darker book than I expected. “The visions made her want to claw her skin”. The setting is perfect place for wolves and witches , but I can’t give any comment on the authentic depiction as I’ve never visited this place. Author narrated their own audiobook and did a great job in my opinion, the wolf howls and other effects were good.
Colonisation representation is complicated

I was disappointed in representation of female characters. The girls are in high school and worried overly worried about looking old. The girls are using make up to make sure they aren’t hideous. What the girls look like is a large part of their personality. The activities that they as FMCS  can do as girls even as goddess is like knitting. The illustrations are beautiful. The male character intiate  adventure and fmcs follow. Also there’s a scene that made me feel icky….

where the kids drink ambrosia which is alcoholic cocktail with their principal Zeus & he’s telling Persephone  how her mother needs to let her grow up

this is behaviour is giving grooming vibes yet saying the behaviour is acceptable & fun
