The characters and the art in this one are perfection! This is the second graohic I've read recently by this illustrator and I can't wait to read more!

The coloring in this was perfect! Choosing different colors to represent different aspects of the story was a fun way to illustrate where things were taking place. As the author mentions in the back of the book, hearing a different type of immigrant story was super interesting. Taking fairytales and using them to illustrate real life and changing them to relate to the characters was a fun way to showcase the familial bonds in this story.

I love this story dearly. Even as an adult this story touched my heart and made me think about what home means.

The art was wonderful in this and the story was on the same level. This is a heartwrenching and inspiring story of two women trying to escape abuse and trauma while trying to find pieces of themselves in each other.
I think we all try to connect with people by finding similarities but Lou and Bea are connecting through disconnection. I deeply loved this graphic novel and highly recommend it.

Obsessed with manga about fashion. This warmed my Paradise Kiss living heart and I'm excited to read the next 3 volumes.
I enjoy how  Ryo was portrayed in this manga. I never once thought of him as a girl where as sometimes trans characters are written in ways where that is not necessarily the case. The characters who interact with Ryo accept him (aside from the bullies) and are open to exploring gender neutral fashions as a brand that promotes not feeling shame in who you are.

The illustrations were fun in this. Read with my coworker and had a great time enjoying the rhymes and looking at the art of the Hobbit story.
