Great writing. I found myself taking pictures of certain passages so that I can save them for when people ask me, "Why did you want to become a wildlife ecologist?" He's great at explaining the reasons and motivations ecologists have for what they do.

The writing was powerful, but I had a hard time connecting with the story. I felt like a lot of the natural questions that a reader would have about the characters and the plot were never answered, which might be a way of giving the reader a sense for the confusion and disorientation refugees and asylum seekers feel.
