I really loved it.
It definitely has a ‘Eleanor Oliphant’ feel to it, in the sense that the story is very much about the protagonist’s journey and how the story weaves around them, rather than a huge climax or fantasy.

I thought the character development and scene setting were great. I really got a sense that Haywood knew these places and each setting of the scene was personal and well done.

I felt like the different truths about Susan were revealed in such a natural way that told you about her past and why she is the way she is without feeling like a bombardment of information and an attempt to over dramatise the story.

Overall I’d give this book a 4/5 and I’d recommend it to anyone that wants a really good and lovely story.

I took me until about half way to get into this book, but when I did I was desperate to finish it and find out more!
I really liked the 4 main characters and thought the scene setting was great. I want to go back to Paris now and visit small Italian towns!

If you like novels about families and the trials and tribulations of life, told from multiple points of view then you’ll enjoy this.
Lucy Diamond has weaved a complex story without bombarding you with character development and intricate details.
I liked the characters and the scene setting, although I didn’t get a real feel for the locations as much as I would have liked, but the relationships were really rich.
If you enjoy books by the likes of Giovanna Fletcher, Paige Toon And Jojo Moyes then you’ll enjoy this!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. It was different in ways, but better than any expectation.
I’m not religious but can relate to the faith Rachel has, and I have felt so motivated by this book.
I listened to it as an audiobook and loved her narration. I found myself nodding along and laughing, and also cried a couple of times.

If you’re working stuff out or want a pep talk from someone who has been through ALOT and come out of it way stronger and wiser, or if you just want to hear from one strong female’s point of view then I recommend this!
