I loved the concept, loved the epistolary format, loved the plot and loved this short story. Made me want to pick up more TJR!
I don’t understand how this has so many 3/4/5 star reviews?! I’m not even sure on my 2.
This book is toxic as hell, and the writing is completely average. The tension is ok but otherwise it’s a nightmare. The guy is troubled which is fair enough, but him managing to totally change his perception on commitment and love in one month of therapy after 30 years of abuse from his father and neglect from his mum seems super trivialised.
The female MC is a wet lettuce and the author’s descriptions of people and beauty standards just show exactly what she thinks attractive people should look like.
It reads like a young 17 year old wrote it who hasn’t discovered feminism yet.
3.5/5
The beginning started quite strong but the latter half felt a bit rushed and unpolished.
